Cades Cove Barn #WW

Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! This old barn is in the Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountains.  If you look through the first barn you’ll see another barn behind and a buggy. I shared a close up of this shot in Forgot Past several years ago if you’d care to take a peek. Meanwhile, I used the above image to create more magic through these photo-artworks.

Distressed FX with layer options, Cole and Earthstone with a minor saturation adjustment

Brushstroke Simple (S6) and Papers=Blue. I made a happy discovery with the app signature option which I can move it around. I don’t know why I didn’t try this before now! Oh, silly me, right? lol
Last time I mentioned Waterlogue keeps tracks of options applied, but I didn’t realize that it tracks ALL changes even when you revert them, so to keep things straight I won’t show those again and just hit the prominent ones of choice yielding my final image. Preset Style = Rainy, Format = 10″ Giant, and Paint = Lighter.

This week, Joyce is taking a fall break from Wednesday Hodgepodge.

I’m not sure why I’m drawn to  barns but I love the things of the past and how it makes me feel. Do I long to walk through the by-gone days? I don’t think so but it’s certainly nice to imagine what it was like to live in those days.

  1. Brushstroke is my favorite on this one. I just love how you make photos look like paintings.

    Thank you for sharing.

  2. What a great picture of the barn and, once again, your versions of the same pic are great although I love the last one the best.

    1. Patrick,

If you ever make it to the Smoky Mountains then you can! It’s actually right beside the one-way loop road through the Cade Cove community.

  4. I like all these effects, I didn’t really notice the roof until I got to the Brushstroke one. Have a great day!

  5. I bet it’s lovely there, I like the shot and also your edits especially the Brushtroke one it makes it look like a completely different time of day

Have an artistictastic day Cathy & thanks for your visits 🙂

    1. Steve,

The Brushstroke app put some color in the sky that otherwise is washed out due overexposure or it was drab gray day. I’m not sure which it was now. Thanks for dropping by for a visit. Have a good day!

    1. Monica,

The original is usually most folks favorite but being in a photo slump due circumstances then I find it essential to create new photo-artwork with archived images and that’s a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Lee,

Cades Cove is one of our favorite places in the park, too. We used to go frequently but these days not so much. In fact the past several months, we haven’t been to the mountains very much. While DH’s eye is out of sorts, it takes away his enjoyment to do see places of such beauty. The good thing is we live here and have countless chances to visit when his eye improves. You really should revisit the area on your next trip back east. 🙂
