Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! This old barn is in the Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountains. If you look through the first barn you’ll see another barn behind and a buggy. I shared a close up of this shot in Forgot Past several years ago if you’d care to take a peek. Meanwhile, I used the above image to create more magic through these photo-artworks.

This week, Joyce is taking a fall break from Wednesday Hodgepodge.
I’m not sure why I’m drawn to barns but I love the things of the past and how it makes me feel. Do I long to walk through the by-gone days? I don’t think so but it’s certainly nice to imagine what it was like to live in those days.

Brushstroke is my favorite on this one. I just love how you make photos look like paintings.
Thank you for sharing.

What a cool old barn. love your edits.
What a great picture of the barn and, once again, your versions of the same pic are great although I love the last one the best.
Birgit,
The Waterlogue version kind makes me think the paint is smeared but the effect is interesting. I’m glad you liked it!
Interesting variations. My favorite is the third one. It shows so much detail.
I love kitties, cute pic!!
Such a beautiful shot Cathy, love your edits 🙂 Thanks for hosting.
Claire,
I’m sorry I just saw your comment in my “Pending” folder. I’m delighted you liked the edits and photo. Thanks for stopping by, my friend!
It looks like what i’d expect to see if i stepped back in time.
It’s a nice barn. It’s the kind of place I’d want to escape to when the world gets too busy. You know what I mean? 😉
The roof is beautiful.
Never been to this Caves Cover… although I can say I have a deserted barn to check out on my bucket list. I don’t care where it is Just want to check out a deserted old barn or old house on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing these great photos & stopping by my friend! You’re duh best!!! hugs
I love your edits. I love the old barn too. What treasures.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ☺
That is a beautiful barn. I would like to go an visit it.
Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful week.
Patrick,
If you ever make it to the Smoky Mountains then you can! It’s actually right beside the one-way loop road through the Cade Cove community.
I like all these effects, I didn’t really notice the roof until I got to the Brushstroke one. Have a great day!
Ellen,
The Brushstroke creation may be my favorite. I like how it adds a spot of blue in the sky. 🙂
It’s really interesting to see how you can take one photograph and give it a different look/feel/mood by using different effects.
Beautiful. Cathy, your own creative artwork is always beautiful. Nice work, my friend. Hugs.
Annie,
The filters applied using these apps do lend its own beauty to an already quaint old barn.Thank you for visiting and joining the hop!
I bet it’s lovely there, I like the shot and also your edits especially the Brushtroke one it makes it look like a completely different time of day
Have an artistictastic day Cathy & thanks for your visits 🙂
Steve,
The Brushstroke app put some color in the sky that otherwise is washed out due overexposure or it was drab gray day. I’m not sure which it was now. Thanks for dropping by for a visit. Have a good day!
It’s fun to see how filters affect images! I also love the kittens. cheers!
Thanks for stopping in today. Did you link up? Now I’m off to visit you!
cool to find your bloghop. Love the old barn but for some reason I like it natural The overall texture is so beautiful in itself. 🙂
Monica,
The original is usually most folks favorite but being in a photo slump due circumstances then I find it essential to create new photo-artwork with archived images and that’s a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping by!
lol, to answer your question on my blog. It is a real acorn. A friend of mine said teh pattern in it was made by some tiny critters. 🙂
Cades Cove is one of my favorite places to go. I guess it’s been at least a couple years since I was last there.

Tossing It Out
Lee,
Cades Cove is one of our favorite places in the park, too. We used to go frequently but these days not so much. In fact the past several months, we haven’t been to the mountains very much. While DH’s eye is out of sorts, it takes away his enjoyment to do see places of such beauty. The good thing is we live here and have countless chances to visit when his eye improves. You really should revisit the area on your next trip back east. 🙂
