Purrs and hooowdys, Kittens & Dawgs! This is DH’s off Friday, so I you won’t find me touring Blogosphere today. Of course, I have to report on last week’s Battle of the Bands featuring The Sound of Strings for a Silent Night showdown and to share some giggles.
All three string renditions of “Silent Night” are worthy to hear and to enjoy. The first mewsical instrument, the acoustic guitar is soothing like a lullaby for the newborn King. The second, the ukulele posses an innocence quality as in the babe lying in a manger. The third, the violin is beautiful conjuring visions of angels in the heavenly sky standing watch over baby Jesus. Any and all of these are winners, there truly is no loser with your pick. I think the one that speaks to my heart is the ukulele.
The final tally…
Rafael Scarfullery (guitar) – 3
Michael Lynch (ukulele) – 3 includes my vote
Taylor Davis (violin) – 7
The victory belongs to Taylor Davis! applauds
Are you pulling your hair out yet? The holidays can be a real hair puller, so here’s a few more Friday Sillies to break the stress, so breathe, relax, and enjoy the Christmas season! 😉
This reminds me of a comment DD#1 made after we got home from the hospital with her baby sister and she wouldn’t stop crying. She said to me, “Turn off, Mommy! Turn off!” Sorry kiddo, there’s no off switch on this baby doll. 🙂
I’m really not a Grumpy Cathy, but you gotta admit that’s funny!
That’s a wrap for now. I’ll leave you with another “Silent Night” rendition featuring the winner of Dec. 15th BoTB, Taylor Davis with the vocals performed by Home Free.
One more thing, I know many won’t be in Blogosphere including myself on Monday but I will have my “all things Christmas” edition up for anyone wishing to hit the dance floor with Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me!

Those non-denominational cards and funnies made me crack up! I needed that after the week I’ve had in retail!
Kim @ The ReInVintaged Life
Kim,
I’m happy to add a little comic relief to the end of your stressful week. Have a very Merry Christmas, my friend!
NIce “Silent Night” here… That Grumpy Cat… Oh, My!
I did my first BOTB today… It was just a Facebook Update, not even a Note.
You were in there, sort of, in a Cat Lady way.
Myke,
You threw up a BoTB on FB? Well…I’ll have to stop by to check it out. We went to some western North Carolina communities not too far from Asheville. It was a nice day spent in the mountains enjoying the Christmas light displays. Thanks for stopping by. Now, I’m off to see what you shared. 🙂
I went with the ukulele too 🙂 Have a wonderful Christmas!
Ellen,
I’m glad to hear that our ears matched in this battle. The ukulele version is tender and sweet, which makes me think of a baby. 🙂
I about choked on my coffee when I saw that Grumpy Cat meme… Merry Christmas!
John,
Yeah, is that Grumpy Cat hilarious? It cracked me up, too. 😀 Merry Christmas to you, too!
Nice post Cathy heheh! but I won’t be excepting a gift off that cat LOL
Happy Christmas and best wishes from London UK 🙂
Steve,
Forget the tree burning your house down, you’d have to worry about your phone doing that instead. lol Many happy blessings to you this Christmas, my friend!
Some funny stuffs here, CATHY, my friend! And that was an excellent Battle. You dun goot!
Thanks again for the E-card; it was truly beautiful! I wish you the Merryest Christmas and the Happiest New Year!! It’s been fun interacting with ya in the Blogosphere this year, and let’s keep it rolling right through 2018.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and may our good Lord, King Jesus, bless you and your family with the Holy Spirit of God’s abiding presence.

STMcC Presents ‘Battle Of The Bands’
Stephen,
Thank you for the wonderful warm Christmas greetings, my friend. I shall be there with bells on come January 1 for a brand new BoTB and I am certainly looking forward to another fun filled year of showdowns with you. Have a joyful Christmas season and God bless!
What a fun post. Love this.
I linked this post to Feline Friday because of the grumpy cat. Made me laugh out loud.
Have a fabulous day and weekend, Cathy. ♥
Sandee,
Thanks! I’ve been away all day, just now getting to where I can respond to comments. I guess I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to visit everyone. It’s late. Thanks for linking me up today, my friend!
I love your festive post! The Christmas card at the end is beautiful.
Eugenia,
I’m glad you enjoyed the post and greetings. Have a good weekend! 😉
Hi, Cathy!
What a pretty greeting card there at the end! I love it. I congratulate you on garnering a fairly even distribution of votes in your three-way BOTB. I agree that all three instruments/renditions are enjoyable. In the end I guess I am more of a guitar person than a violin person and that’s why I went with Rafael. I enjoyed your Friday Sillies. A pet can get mighty jealous when a newborn human enters the picture and invades its territory. Fortunately, more often than not, the animal instinctively bonds with the infant and is protective of it. That’s how it was with our dog Toto. Over the years we knew she could be trusted around babies that were brought into the house.
Merry merry merry Christmas to you and your family, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
Thanks for stopping by with all the things going on with Christmas and an unplanned moved, my friend. Guitar mewsic is always beautiful and I’m not sure I can say I prefer one over the other. I think it’s the way the individual string instrument moves me that I’m pulled to like the ukulele. I really grabbed my heart but the guitar and violin were equally nice. I agree generally most animals do bond with babies and are quit protective. I’m glad to hear that your beloved Toto is no exception and has taken up with the children in your home. All my best to you and your family for a very Merry Christmas!
It was a good battle, all three had great points.
Loved the funnies!
Mimi,
They each had their own beauty, didn’t they? Thanks for visiting!
I think that outcome was as it should have been. Merry Christmas! “See you” sometime next year.

Tossing It Out
Lee, I didn’t know how this one would go down for sure. I figured the violin or guitar would carry most of the votes but I was proven wrong on that one. Thanks for stopping by. I’ll be by to see you soon!
