Books! Books for Sale!!! (Alphabe-Thursday)

Books! Books for Sale!!! I’m back at it, back to organizing and de-cluttering that is.  What a wonderfully beautiful opportunity has presented itself this week with the Alphabe-Thursday letter assignment ‘B‘. Guess what I’m gonna be writing about?

One of the greatest joys of being a homeschool mom is teaching my children how to read.  Coming from someone who stumbled, struggled, and in short was a reluctant reader growing up found this to be a bit magical.

Unlike me, I raised certified Book Worms with my daughters. They loved adventure stories when they were young, and over time graduated to adult fiction and books written from a conservative political view. They were truly book lovers to the core!

Over the years, we spent SO much money on books, any kind of books, which seemed to tickle their passion. Now, they don’t live at home anymore. That’s just a part of life,  isn’t it? They left behind all of their books from their early years, which are quietly collecting dust and doing no good to anyone. This brings me to the whole purpose of why I’m posting this today. I have several wholesome fiction series geared for young girls waiting…I said waiting to find a new home for someone else to love.

Let me introduce you to Lois Walfrid Johnson, author of two historical based fiction series: Riverboat Adventures and Adventures of the Northwoods for ages 8-13. On Mrs. Johnson’s website, you can read a synopsis of each story. Sometimes, she offers an entire chapter for your pleasure. You can find these series on her site.
With that being said, I have in my possession both of these wonderful series, which I can sell to anyone in the USA only!

The Riverboat Adventure Series – very good condition! SOLD 5-30-2012!!!
Photographed by Me 🙂
Price: $12 for all six books plus $6.00 S/H (or current US priority mail rate)

Adventures of the Northwoods – very good condition!
Photographed by Me 🙂
Price: $20 for all ten books plus $7.00S/H (or current US priority mail rate) SOLD!!!

I want to sell these books as a set.  Here’s the tricky part. I only have one set each of these series so this will be a first come-first serve transaction. Send an email listing the set you want to buy, along with your mailing address to curiousasacathy@gmail.com. I will send you a PayPal invoice for the purchase.

This is a blow-out bargain at $2 per/book plus S/H. The cool part is, they’ll be delivered right to your door. No special trips equal money saved at the gas pump, right? I don’t know about you, but that’s appealing to me!

Forgive the sales pitch folks, but I thought this was perfect timing to give someone a chance to scoop these books up and off my hands.  For more Alphabe-Thursday ‘B‘ posts, then click…

  1. Good morning Cathy. I want to read this a little more closely. This sounds like something I’d be interested in.

    BUT…

I can’t visit your blog from my computer today and I snuck onto my husbands and only have about a minute before he comes back!

I’ll come back over tonight or tomorrow morning early and re-read what you have available.

    What fun!

Kind of like a treasure hunt!

    Thanks for linking up.

    A+

  2. Hello.
Nice post & I think it’s a great idea to auction the books off.
thanks for sharing & for your lovely comment on my entry. I truly appreciated it. See you soon for letter “C”.

  3. It’s neat to hear about your joy in teaching your children to read and finding out about new books is always a treat. It sure is hard to let good books go though, isn’t it?

  4. Clutter…I hate it but don’t have the time or energy to deal with it. I’m hoping to spend a bit of time each day over the Christmas-New Year’s holiday cleaning drawers and closets. If I’m successful, I’ll feel a whole lot better about the beginning of 2012. Good luck with your project!

  5. I love books, I wish I had more time to read! Got any Dr. Suess?? He is still my favorite:-) Thanks for visiting my B blog & the comment regarding butternut squash… maybe that is the way I should try it as a newbee… sort of it is natural state so I can see what the flavor of it is and everything before I try to make other stuff with it… plus that sounds much easier! LOL, thanks:-)

  6. Great B post Cathy and a great idea too.
I’m sure someone with daughters will be along very shortly to snap them up.
    Thanks for stopping by.
