Birthday wishes to….

Posted on July 20, 2013

Bee @ Living off Script. She’s….blank today. Okay, I didn’t ask how many this will make her. That’s  SOMETHING you don’t ask a woman nor does a woman want to tell. Remember there needs to be that element of mystery in a woman’s life. Besides, it’s just a number anyhow. You’re only as old as you wish to feel, right? Absolutely.

Now, let’s get this birthday bash underway!

Birthday Lore for July 20: You are shrewd, honest, studious, and conscientious in your work. You are rather outspoken and straightforward, but tactful. You like society and are very popular in your own circle. You will be happily married and make a pleasant and attractive home.

Celebrities who share your birthday are:
  • Sir Edmund Hillary
  • Diana Rigg
  • Carlos Santana, 1947
  • Natalie Wood, 1938

There are many reasons to celebrate July. Let’s take a look at other reasons to find an excuse to have a bash.

The first one is a no-brainer and I assume you already party on this day, but because this event is so special then I’m going to highlight it anyhow.

In America, families around the country gather for cookouts in their backyards and shoot off fireworks or will join in on community style picnics to feast on hotdogs and to enjoy live entertainment – music and fireworks in honor of our nation’s independence from England on July 4, 1776. You inquisitive minds may like this article Fourth of July Fun Facts: 10 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Independence Day, which I found fascinating.

Our neighbors to the North of us in Canada celebrate the birth of their country on July 1 in much the same way that we do. I didn’t forget my Canadian friends. I gained a bit education as I learned a thing or two when I stumbled upon, 13 Things You Didn’t Know About Canada Day.

July has some interesting fun facts. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day. America is #1 in ice cream consumption packing away yearly more than 1600 million gallons.  It so happens I wrote a random post last week here. For more interesting facts read 11 Tasty Tidbits for National Ice Month.

Do you like hot dogs? July is National Hot Dog Month.  Did you know 7 billion (that’s BILLION) hot dogs get eaten between Memorial Day and Labor Day by Americans?

Holy piglet, that’s a lot of dogs! Hot dogs are a fun family meal at our house. We typically serve pork based wieners on hot dog buns with mustard topped with chili and onions. If I add coleslaw to this, then you have a traditional variety I enjoyed as a kid called a West Virginia Dog. Learn a more with by downloading this pdf booklet  Hot Dog Facts, Figures, and Folklore and if want more fun facts about hot dogs, then click here.

Another thing, July is known for is National Blueberry Month. I don’t know about you, but I love blueberries! One of my favorite things to do with blueberries is toss them in pancake batter but these little purple gems are delicious in many other dishes. To get you going take a look at these recipes and for those who take nutrition serious then you may want to read: The Truth About the Health Benefits of Blueberries.

If you have young children or grandlittles, then you may like this cute book – a once favorite of my own kiddies.

Happy Birthday, Bee!

Now, scoot on over to Bee’s place Living off Script to wish her a very special day!

If you would like to participate in my birthday greetings party, then simply send your name, blog URL, and birthday (partial or complete birthday – whatever you are comfortable with) to CAAC!

4M Guidelines: Below are the 4M co-hostess. The rules are simple. Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. We're looking for embedded music to enjoy, one song or several. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you (your choice)! It's just that easy. Have fun and welcome to the party!
