Bad Moon Rising #BoTB results

Last week I asked y’all to listen to two bands covering CCR’s Bad Moon Rising. The battle was between Little Hurricane and Ann & Gretchen Wilson. It was a close battle with Ann & Gretchen stealing the lead with a 2 vote margin 9 to 7. Congrats to the sweetHearts! 👏

I’m familiar with Ann & Gretchen’s mewsic from the 80s. YTer, Kaleidoscopia, put together a Most Underrated Heart Songs part 2 (1980-193) 2 playlist that I’m sharing today.  If you like this sample then you might wanna check out Kaleidocopia (1976-1978) part 1 playlist.

#WildWednesdays Last month, we celebrated our 41st anniversary. DH got this beautiful Eternity Rose for me. It’s a real rose dipped in gold! I’m very blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

The #WildWednesdays linky party didn’t get much action last week and since I am not regularly contributing mid-weeks I am skipping it until I’m back doing my routine like clockwork.

In closing let me say, a special thanks to everyone who voted in last week’s BoTB. I appreciate your devotion to make my showdowns interesting and fun.  Until we meet next time, be safe and stay well, my friends! X💋X💋, Cathy

    1. Stephen,

My battles generally for several months have been quite close. I’m enjoying it while it lasts because I know that can’t keep up forever. 🙂 I’ll look for your August 1st if I don’t forget. I tend to do that a lot while on my break. Thanks for popping by, my friend.

  1. That was a close battle, Cathy! I love your Eternity Rose and I have one that is similar that my hubby gave to me when we still lived in Florida. Over 10 years ago by now. Happy belated 41st anniversary. 🌹

    1. Eugenia,

It’s nice having husbands who are extraordinarily sweet and romantic, isn’t it? Thanks for the anniversary wishes. I told DH that I might keep him for at least another 41 years. After that I’ll have to think about it. lol

  2. Dear Cathy,

Been so long. The Eternity Rose looks lovely.

Hope things are fine at your end and you are taking good care. Keep smiling.

Thank you for joining us on #WW.

    Love and cheer!

    1. Natasha,

Life is going okay on this end. Let’s hope it stays that way, too. 🙂 The Eternity Rose makes me smile every time I pass it. DH is the sweetest and best husband in the world. At least to me. 😀 Thanks for visiting, my friend!

  3. Hi Cat, Sorry I’m so late again. We had another death in the family. It’s my sister-in-law’s sister! We needed to set something up on FB for this Saturday. Anyway, LOVE LOVE LOVE – HEART! Thanks for the tunes my friend.. sure needed something to get my head on track! So anyway sending BIG HUGS to ya and have a great weekend!!!

    1. Marie,

No apologizes are ever needed my friend. I’m sorry for your family’s lose. Had your SIL’s sister been sick? I don’t recall if you told me. We’ll say extra prayers for everyone during this time of sorrow. Blessings to you, my darlin’! Much hugs and love to you!!

  4. What all is on the under-rated Heart songs playlist? I haven’t got time to listen right now, but was wondering if one of my favorite songs of theirs (“How Can I Refuse”) was on it. Everyone loves 70s Heart, but I was much more fond of 80s Heart myself. Not sure if that’s because that was “my generation”….but all their music is pretty good, regardless.

    1. Kim,

The YTer listed the song titles on this playlist that I shared as well as the other I mentioned and neither has “How Can I Refuse”. I don’t know that one. I’ll have to listen to it shortly to refresh my memory. Wait, why not include it here now?! 🙂

  5. They were the best to the two, but this was close. That’s the cool thing about music. What one likes someone else might not.

Have a fabulous day, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Indeed the battle was a close one. There for awhile I wasn’t sure it would tighten up but it did. You’re right about mewsic, what one likes the other doesn’t and that’s ok. Mewsic speaks to us differently just like many things do in life.

  6. Hi, Cathy!

Thanks for reporting the result of your latest band battle, dear friend! Earlier this year I enjoyed a winning streak, but lately I have been on the losing side more often. I can’t help believing Ann Wilson’s name and star power had something to do with the outcome of the contest. Ann Wilson and Ann Wilson cover artists are all over YouTube and I have grown a bit tired of her. I very much appreciated the introduction to Little Hurricane and listening to their refreshingly different arrangement of “Bad Moon Rising.”

I hope you and your family are having more good days than bad, dear friend. I’m thinking about you. Rest and enjoy your summer weeks, and thank you again for the vote of encouragement as I complete 12 years of blogging and begin my 13th. Take care, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

The Wilsons might have been the popular choice because everyone knows them as Heart. Although I don’t cast a vote in my battles, like you, I was draw more toward Little Hurricane’s cover. Everything has settled down on this end of us until next, I suppose. lol I surely appreciate your concern, my friend. Thanks for dropping by today.
