Welcome to Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me! How are you doing today? I’m a bit loopy. I nearly had a heartache on Friday, figuratively speaking, on Friday when I realized that I didn’t have a #BoTB scheduled before remembering I announced I wouldn’t be doing one unless in fell in line with my Monday posts while on hiatus. What a weight off my mind! Anyway, this week’s theme is “your choice song picks“.
The week before last, I shared with you a mewsic discovery from Showtime’s reboot of Twin Peaks. The series introduced another cool new-to-me group, Au Revoir Simone. An American Indie pop band from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Today’s songs features fall more in to the ‘dream pop’ genre and I understand why David Lynch wanted them in his series.
Au Revoir Simone playlist includes:
- Lark (Twin Peaks 2017; originally released as a bonus track on The Bird of Music album)
- A Violent Yet Flammable World (Twin Peaks 2017; originally released as a bonus track on The Bird of Music album)
- Somebody Who (2013 Move in Spectrums album)
- The Lucky One (2007 The Bird of Music album)
- All or Nothing (2009 Still Night Still Light album)

DISCLOSURE…this is a mewsic linky party, which means all participates are sharing songs that one can listen to from YouTube or Vimeo and a not a post about mewsic or mewsicians. Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.
Last week, Cynthia was had a technical glitch and couldn’t make it to the party. I hope the situation is resolved but if you don’t see her around then it probably continues to be a problem. Anyway, I hope my no show in BoTB wasn’t too much of an upset but luckily next month the 1st and 15th fall on Mondays. So you’ll get a double play from me in June. 😉 That’s a wrap for now. Have a boogietastic week!

I never saw Twin Peaks, then or now, so I am at a disadvantage – all I can do is judge the music outside the context of the show. Dream Pop…hmmmm. I have to admit, it could be background music but nothing more. But it was good to be exposed. You increased my musical knowledge and that’s always a good thing.
Alana,
Au Revoir Simone and other dream pop mewsic is good for background mewsic. It has a relaxing vibe to it. Twin Peaks is very weird. It took us a long time to get into the series – new and old more so, but once we warmed up to the pilot we got caught up in the strangeness. I’m glad we got to see the reboot. If you have Netflix I believe the original series is still available for streaming if you’re curious. Thanks for dancing with me, my dear.
Hello Sweety,
The kitty and puppy are absolutely adorable. The music is new to me. Thank you for sharing. Joining us for #WordessWednesday this week hun?
Have a great week ahead!
Natasha,
Thanks for dropping by. I came by your place, even commented but didn’t link up since I don’t have a photo contribution. I always feel weird about linking up when I don’t have material to go with the hop, you know? I appreciate the invite, though. Have a good day! 😉
Thanks for the mewsic, which is new to me! Love the pic of the fur buddies and have a fantabulous week ahead!
Eugenia,
I’m delighted to boogie with you whenever you find time to stop by. I’m sorry for the late response and visit. If the truth be told I’m enjoying doing other things away from Blogosphere right now and you know? I don’t feel guilty for doing those things, either. 😀 I’m heading over to see you now, my love!
Yeah, that sounds like Twin Peaks music. Loved the original show. Probably won’t see the reboot since we don’t have showtime. Probably no big loss for me.

Lee,
The only reason we have Showtime is because of the free month promo. We’re keeping it for awhile until we finish watching Ray Donovan which is really a good series. I had hoped that Netflix would pick up the reboot series of Twin Peaks but they haven’t yet. Perhaps eventually they will get it, though. However, you’re right, not seeing the new season isn’t a horrible loss because I don’t know if David Lynch is going to make another one and he certainly can’t wait another 25 years to do it.
An excellent aww and great music and how i do like the thought of being led by dreams instead of chased by fears.
Mimi,
Dreams are better than fears any ole day. 🙂 Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, my love!
Hi Cathy! That’s a beautiful song. My post is fine this week, but the linky code is not working. Hope you are doing well.

Great news to hear. Thanks for dropping by to let me know. 😉

Binky,
I’ll have to scout out more of Au Revoir Simone’s mewsic for a feature post. These features have that surreal sound of Twin Peaks which I really like. Have a good afternoon, my furriend!
Can’t say I ever heard of this group or any of their songs. Great listening music for sure and a couple of them I guess you could dance too! Great job my friend. Thanks for the introduction to these new songs. Have a great day & stay healthy & safe, but most of all be happy! HUGS
Marie,
These Au Revoir Simone songs are more for slow dancing or just chillaxing to in the background. 🙂
A new discovery for me. Thank you for sharing!
Damyanti,

Thanks for swinging by to enjoy the mewsic on the dance floor, my dear!
This pair of fur buddies are just too photogenic for words, but “Aww” seems most appropriate. Thanks for introducing me to some new music. Have a blessed week.
Driller,
Anytime, my friend. I’m happy to have you join me this week. Have a wonderful day!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy 4M & Awww Monday, dear friend!
Awww… that picture of the cuddling kitten and puppy is Awwwsome!
I admit I was a bit surprised that you didn’t present a mid month band battle. I know how much you hate to miss your blog hops. I look forward to your next BOTB on the first of the month.
I am very excited about your mewsical discovery Au Revoir Simone. The indie pop trio is new to my ears and eyes. In the first two videos I was struck by the act’s unusual formation – an all-keyboard band – three beautiful long-haired women lined up in a row playing keyboards. Never saw anything like that before. I read that Au Revoir Simone derived their name from a line spoken by Pee-wee Herman in his 1985 movie Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. I see that the dream poppers have been active 17 years now and never seem to age. Their mewsic video included lots of closeups of their faces, body parts and clothing styles. Their vocal harmonies are angelic and otherworldly, ideal for David Lynch projects. I like them!
Have a safe and boogietastic week, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
I read a little up on Au Revoir Simone on how they came up with the band’s name but I not knowing anything about Pee-wee Herman then it doesn’t mean anything to me. Paul Reubans was in a few episodes of Gotham. He played Oswald Cobblepot’s (aka the Penguin) father. I hated that this TV series ended after only 5 seasons, great writers and cast! Anyway back to the mewsic…I’m delighted you enjoyed my introduction of Au Revoir Simone. They certainly have the right sound for a David Lynch production. Thanks for joining me this morning, my friend.
Tom,
You’re right I do hate missing my BoTB segments but I felt like it’s best to skip it this go around and resume next month. After June I’m not sure how I’ll handle these while on a summer hiatus. I want to do other things while Internet traffic is down. On a positive note, I’m happy to read you enjoyed the introduction to my feature band this week. It just occurred to me that I responded to your message using my WP app and it’s not showing here. I remember this because I mentioned Paul Reubens was in a few episodes of the Gotham TV series. I never cared much for the Pee-wee Herman character. Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend coming up and thanks for dropping by, dear friend!
