Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! It’s hump day and all around the internet people like me are happily sharing a featured photo or two with their readers. The Friday before last, I shared a panorama shot, here, I took with my iPhone in the same area of today’s photo share. I want to show you Another look at Wiseman’s View.
Don’t forget to click on the images for a better viewing experience! 😉
This is sort of an off-the-beaten path. From the main highway, you drive about 4-5 miles on rough, gravelly road. If you have a low riding vehicle then be very careful! However, getting to the overlook from the parking lot is an easy 5-minute walk. The path is paved for anyone needing wheelchair access or for those who prefer to walk on even surfaces. I snapped both photos from the path before making our way to the observation point (in first photo) that juts over the mountain. If you’re afraid of heights, then don’t look down. That feeling totally creeps me out every time! The day was awesomely beautiful ~ blue skies, light breeze, and mild temperatures. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Do you have plans to be in the western North Carolina mountains? If so, consider including this in your travel plans.
Thank you for including me in your day and I invite you to link your WW post below.
Have a fototastic day!

That’s a very relaxing and beautiful spot. Blessings!
Arnoldo, it is a gorgeous, amazing view and the best part is we didn’t have to hike all day to get to it. lol
Oh wow…beautiful! I’m in Tennessee, so we mostly do Gatlinburg’s mountains, but we have traveled through North Carolina a few times.

Ah, you’re a Tennessee girl, too?! I’m in Knoxville and the Smoky’s is our go-to spot whenever we aren’t on the BRP or in the western NC mountains. There’s plenty for us to enjoy within a short drive! Thanks for stopping. I’m away from my computer, but will hop over to see you soon!
Some very impressive acreage here. We have some rolling hills here is West Tennessee, but nothing on the grande scale you display here.
Myke, I reckon it’s pretty flat in west Tennessee. We’ve never been in your neck of the woods, but we’d like to visit some day. I mean, y’all are supposed to have some good Barbeque and that’s all it may take to get us there! Lol
I wish I was going to be in that area so I can stop by and see you. Maybe one day we shall meet God willin’!!! hugs and have a great day.
It’s so beautiful – so big and open and lush!! And I am definitely looking down. ha.
Very nice. Sounds like it’s a great place to walk around.
What a beautiful view! You make me ache to get out and go hiking…except it’s close to 90 today in Florida, so many not such a good idea.
I would love to visit here. And I prefer “off-the-beaten-path”. You just have to plan for it.
Hi, Cathy!
I love your macro images! When I was the tender age of two, my dad, the outdoorsman and nature photographer, started taking me on weekly hikes in the country. I developed a love for woodlands, wildlife and mountain scenery:

I remember you telling me about the rough, gravel road that leads to Wiseman’s View. When Mrs. Shady and I travel on vacation, we always rent a S.U.V. that can handle rugged terrain. When we went to the Grand Canyon two summers ago, it made my head spin to visit the high elevation observation points and look hundreds of feet down from the cliffs, even though I knew that a railing stood between me and disaster. Mrs. Shady boldly walked over to the edge of an unprotected cliff, turned around with her back to the steep drop-off, and posed for selfies. I nearly gave birth to a litter of kittens right then and there! 🙂
Thank you for more marvelous pictures taken during your travels, dear friend Cathy!
