Good-morning, kittens & dawgs! This month, I’m helping my good blogger pal, XmasDolly and the 4M crew. One of her chicks is out on vacation, so I’m filling her dance shoes as a temporary co-host. I know, I know it’s 4th of July with only a few on the dance floor today. That’s ok. The rest of you get a pass! That being said, when you do get a chance come shake your tail feathers with us!
Let’s kick off this block party with some good ole songs about America!
What mewsic are you listening to lately? I’d love to know what songs are moving you, so please feel free to tell me in comments. ?
While I’m co-hosting Monday’s Music Moves Me, feel free to link your music posts below. You can find the 4M button on XmasDolly’s site to snag and display on your site. Now, get out there and boogie!
Share some love, tweet the mews!
May freedom and rock n’ roll never die. Party on, my friends! Special salute to my friends across the pond in their recent #Britexit victory!

Awesome patriotic choices, Cathy! Always love your picks! 🙂 Hope you had a fabulous 4th and awesome week – sorry about the late dance, the week totally got away from me in craziness personified. 😉 Congrats on the Spotlight Dance, and thank you so much for stepping in and co-hosting with us while Naila’s off playing on vacation! You rock!! 🙂
Quite the list.
It’s definitely an American celebration Cathy!
So glad you could step in for Naila. We appreciate you.
Hope you are having a wonderful family time.
Colette, I’m happy to step in to help while Michelle is on vacation. DH & I spent the day quietly at home. We watched A Capitol Fourth on PBS and the celebration in Boston, NYC, & locally. I hope your family enjoyed the festivities marking our nation’s Independence Day. God bless the USA!
Nice choices… Hope you are enjoying a fantastic Holiday.
I have Pandora set to a Doo Wop station. I am such a closet romantic.

Anytime, Marie! I’m happy to help a friend when I can. Y’all have a safe, fun Independence Day, as well. Do a lot of boogieing to work off your 4th of July feast. Thanks for stopping in to dance!
Great songs. I see we both choose Tom Petty. Another example of great minds thinking alike. Thanks for sharing your tunes.
Love the Guess Who. I know all these songs and they are great. I have been into Movie tunes lately…I sound like am a one note charlie. I also have been listening to Roy Orbison
Birgit, The Guess Who and Roy Orbison are two fabulous artists with some excellent songs. I sometimes get on movie theme music kick, too. It’s hard to shake, so it’s just best to go with the flow until it’s out of your system. I hope you’re having beautiful weather today. We have gorgeous skies over head with a lot of heat. Totally typical July conditions!
Nice selections Cathy 🙂
Happy 4th July from a sunny London UK 🙂
Thank you Steve! A sunny London day, eh? Sounds like some lovely weather for enjoying one’s new found independence against the EU. 🙂 Let freedom ring!
Happy 4th Cathy! l love the choices you picked!
I’ll dance with you tomorrow, Kisma. I’m heading to bed. Lol Enjoy our nation’s Independence Day celebration safely! ???
Hi, Cathy!
I enjoyed your musical tribute to the red, white and blue. They are all terrific songs. Lenny Kravitz recorded a great cover of “American Woman,” but my favorite version of all is the one by Krokus.
Beginning with tomorrow’s post, Shady Dell Music & Memories is “going international,” a reflection of my ever changing taste in music. Along with my bread and butter – oldies made in the USA, Canada and the UK – I will be introducing great artists and songs from other parts of the world.
Happy Independence Day to you and your family, dear friend Cathy!
