A Word of Remembrance, Mewsic, & More

Good morning, kittens & dawgs! I’m cutting corners while I slip back into the routine of blogging daily. I realize today marks the anniversary of that fatal September day causing every American to weep.  I wrote about my memories during my first year in the blogging community 8-years ago. A few years later, I wrote a 9/11 tribute poem, Rise Up To Never Stay Down.  The following year, I shared some photographs of a memorial in We Will Never Forget on Wayback Wednesdays.  Last year, I honored those through mewsic in Where Were You When The World Stopped

Today, I pray for the families who lost loved ones and hope that somehow their lives resemble some sort of normalcy again.  You never forget those you love and as a nation, we should never want to forget the fight that was brought to our doorsteps that day.  We should stand aware of and be ready to defend our land when trouble comes knocking. May God bless the USA!

On a lighter note, I thought I’d share a post sitting in Drafts for more than a year.  In January 2017, I shared the sensational POP Finnish artists, Jenni Vartiainen, with you and this morning I thought I’d introduce more of her mewsic.  Listen and enjoy!

What did you think of today’s mewsic? Is this a new-to-you group or did you know who they are? Are you a new fan of Jenni Vartiainen?

That’s a wrap for now but I’m scooting off to join Stacy for Random Tuesday Thoughts and Sandee for Tuesday Fun and you’re invited to join the fun!  Please join me tomorrow for a not-so-Wordless Wednesday. Have a tunesational Tuesday!

    1. Mimi,

I think everyone is somber on the anniversary of 9/11. Unfortunately, those too young to remember or those not born cannot fully understand the emotions of that day and how vivid the rawness still remains even 17-years later. I hope future generations never have to know such a tragedy but I know that’s not realistic thinking given the way things are going in our country and around the globe.

    1. Melissa,

Oh, brother, your memories left me in tears! I can’t imagine what was going through your mind that day as you made you evacuated your office building to the wild streets of NYC before making your way home on foot. Your thoughts had to be on your husband the entire way. I’m so glad your story had a happy ending. I’m telling you those first responders are real heroes. I’m grateful for men/women called to serve in that capacity. It’s not a job for everyone but those who do it need a pat on the back daily and a ‘job well done’. God bless these fine folks! And, what about the NYC police? Hokey smoke, they had their hands full, didn’t they? The boys in blue really pulled out their A-game that day but you know I feel officers of the law do just that every day. They rarely get the praise they deserve. Many today are too eager to slam them than to uplift these fine people. I would not be a police gal for all the money in Fort Knox! Forget the belted holster & gun making my hips look big, my life would be on the line every day I stepped out my front door. My applauds and praises go out to ALL city personnel around the country for putting others before themselves!

  1. I remember that day well. Where I worked was at a standstill for a few days. The nice thing about that period of time was that I was still working. Retirement is nice, but I do miss those paychecks I used to get.

    1. Lee,

Our life was at a standstill on that day and the most of the week. It was so hard for me to get our homeschooling lessons going all that week and I had the TV on all the time. What I found especially eerie in the days after was how quiet things were with no planes flying overhead. I never noticed this before that time just how much you do miss the sounds of machines in the sky. It kind of reminded me of how still a snowy winter night is to the ear. The silence so penetrating that you wonder if it’s a dream. However, in the case of the 9/11 events, it was anything but a dream; it was a nightmare!

  2. You and I feel the same about 9/11. That’s why I love you so much.

I love Jenni. Wow, I’ve not heard her before today.

Have a fabulous day, my friend. ♥

    1. Sandee,

It’s nice to have good friends like you who see on-to-eye on the same things. Thanks for visiting and remembering with me the horribleness of this September day 17 years ago.

  3. Today we share our memories of the horrific events of 9.11, which was watched up close and in person. It’s a long post but I hope you’ll come visit.
