A Walk Through ETN Veterans Memorial

Posted on November 14, 2012

As I walked through the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial in downtown Knoxville last Friday, all I could think about is our freedom.  Freedom is anything, but free. It comes with a very steep price.  The thousands of lives lost etched in granite before my eyes was only a sample of this nation’s rich sacrifice over the years to keep her people free.  Remember… Freedom, keep walkin’ keep on your toes and don’t you stop talkin’ about freedom…

If we stop talkin’ about freedom then we may just lose it. God bless the men and women who serve us so well!

I felt the tug towards our veterans this year too, but we have military men in the family, so I feel it a lot. This is a nice post. 🙂

I hope to visit TN someday soon and just added the memorial to the list of sites to see. Thanks for sharing such a powerful place!

What sobering and beautiful photos! I am a soldier’s wife and thank you for remembering the sacrifices that have been made and continue to be made for our freedom. My husband has been to war twice and sometimes I feel like many do not remember or appreciate the cost of freedom. It is definitely not free and if we become complacent, we will surely lose its precious benefits. I was happy to link up my Wordless Wednesday post. Thanks for the invite! I, also, am your newest follower and would love a follow back! Many blessings, Lisa 🙂

We have indeed lost a lot to protect our country and I commend all of those who put their lives ahead of ours to do so.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
