Thank you for including me in your Monday, kittens & dawgs and for joining m for the best dance party in Blogosphere with the “Monday’s Music Moves Me” that I co-host along with these incredible ladies, Marie, Stacy, and Colette. This week’s theme is “Sci-Fi Movie or TV Show Mewsic”
I opened with A Place in Time used for the popular short-run TV series, The 4400. I love this song and I own. Today, I’m sharing with you theme mewsic for some of my favorite sci-fi TV series. All of these programs are available on Netflix streaming other than my last selection and it’s on Amazon Prime.
I hope you enjoyed my sci-fi picks and I can’t wait to listen to your selections.
What sci-fi mewsic moves you? ?
Thank you for joining me today. The past couple of weeks have been a bit stressful and with DH’s eye surgery last Thursday then I’m really wiped out! He’s doing good after his retina re-attachment surgery but we learned he’ll more than likely need cataract surgery in that eye within six months and there’s always the possibility for a retina detachment reoccurrence in the same eye. Please remember DH in your prayers. Alrighty, folks the rest of the week I’m preparing for the A2Z challenge and won’t be hanging out in Blogosphere but I hope you’ll decide to you join me on Saturday for Art Sketching Through the Alphabet!

In all honesty I have never heard of these tv shows – but the music is wonderful. Thank you!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit. I always love it when new bloggers come by but may I offer a suggestion. You may want to leave add your website URL when you leave a comment next time or update your gravatar profile to display how others can find you or add a signature with your address in comments. This makes it so much easier for others to pop in on you. If you don’t have a trail leading back to you then most people aren’t going to take the time to look for it. Just saying is all. 🙂 I’m glad I was able to introduce you to some of my favorite TV shows. The mewsic is awesome and hopefully, you’re intrigued to check these programs out!
The only one I’m familiar with is ‘Stranger Things”. That was quite the t.v. show. I’m looking forward to the 2nd season.
Amy, I’m looking forward to season two of “Stranger Things”, too. 🙂
Now I remember falling skies! I didn’t get to finish to the end. I don’t like that with series. Sometimes life just gets in the way.
Very nice selections Cathy.
Praying for your DS. *HUGS*
Colette, I hate it when I can’t finish a series, too. Thankfully the internet offers many ways to catch up on movies and TV shows that we fall behind on!
I hadn’t heard any of these until just now. A good selection. The Stranger Things theme reminds me of a section of Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells.”
John, How ironic is that? I knew the “Stranger Things’ theme reminded me of something and now I know. Thanks for clearing this mystery up for me! 🙂
Very nice. This all new music to me and I enjoyed it. Thanks for the dance.
Patrick, thank you for joining me today and I’m glad I was able to introduce you to some new mewsic and sci-fi shows! Have sci-fi-tastic week! 🙂
So glad your hubby is doing well after his eye surgery! Cataract surgery is lots easier than it was in years past – my hubby had to have cataract surgery on both eyes last year – he’s doing great, and marvels that he doesn’t have to wear glasses any more (except reading glasses). When they do the cataract surgery, they give you a choice of being able to see close up or far away – since he was near sighted all his life, it was an easy choice to make to see far away. 🙂 He also had to do the multiple different kinds of eye drops and wear an eye shield at night – so your hubby will have that down to a science for when the time comes to have cataract surgery. And, he’ll see clearly afterwards! 🙂 I’m going to have to wait another 10 or 15 years to see if I end up with cataracts (if it’s genetic – both my parents had the surgery a couple of years ago in their mid 60’s) so I can ditch the glasses…heh! Well, unless I opt for lasik, but the budget doesn’t allow it…insurance does cover cataract, so I’m morbidly hoping I get cataracts to have the surgery and see clearly without glasses! 🙂
I love your song choices! I did watch the 4400 (don’t know if I saw all the episodes, though – I watched them after the show was in syndication). The others I remember having on my radar to watch, so now I’ll have to see if they’re on any of our streaming services – seems you guys do the same thing we do with the ‘no cable’ mode and just have streaming services! 🙂 We have Hulu+, Amazon Prime, Netflix and CBS All-Access – totally more than we need, actually, but waaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than cable for sure! 🙂
Thanks for the listening pleasure this morning! I’ll keep both you and your hubby in my thoughs and prayers!
Stargate Atlantis is on the Fringe of Futurama or maybe it’s just The Big Bang Theory
Stacy, I appreciate the words of encouragement with DH facing cataract surgery. We’ve heard it’s a lot easier than what it used to be but surgery is no fun no matter how you look at it. Th eye DH had the retina detachment, I asked him to ask the doctor about Lasik and he advised against it. I can’t remember why it is but it’s not good for an eye where the retina had to be re-attached. DH will for sure have this routine down pat for any future eye surgery. It’s really involved. I’m glad you enjoyed today’s mewsic. Maybe you’ll get a chance to watch “The 4400”, since you have Netflix. Cable is so expensive and while we have Xfinity(we do not have a cable box), we use our streaming device to get some of our Cable content, like AMC on our Roku and Apple TV. We only got Xfinity for the high-speed internet years ago and getting basic cable service lowered our overall price. I’d love if more of the basic cable channels were available on our streaming devices then that would be awesome! 🙂 Thanks for popping by, my friend!
Surprisingly, I don’t know any of these shows or movies. I love science fiction, but I guess I haven’t had much time to indulge in an old favorite. Great sounds!
Joyce,
Working outside the home makes little simple pleasures like watching TV a difficult task. Maybe during your summer break you can catch up and include some of my favorites on your watch list. Thanks for dancing with me today!
I miss Haven that was a good show. I am glad DH’s eye surgery went well.
Ellen, “Haven” was a great show. I hope they decide somewhere along the way to reboot the series. They left the show end on a note that made me see this as a possibility. Did you get that impression, too? Thanks for visiting!
Hi, Cathy!
Thanks for the update on DH’s condition. I was just getting ready to email you and ask about him. Mrs. Shady had cataract surgery a year or so ago. It wasn’t bad. She made a full recovery and has much better vision in that eye now. Tell DH not to be apprehensive about the procedure.
I can name that Bosshouse ft. Amanda A. piece in two seconds flat because The 4400 series made a tremendous impression on me when I watched it a few years ago. Like you I have that evocative theme song in my personal collection and I even have a blog post on The 4400 scheduled for sometime in the future. Thanks to you and your recommendation, I also know the theme mewsic from Haven by now because Mrs. S and I watch the series two or three nights a week and thoroughly enjoy it. Ditto with Stranger Things, a series we plowed through in a binge watching spree that left us hungry for season 2. The only series I haven’t been watching and didn’t even know about is Falling Skies. I just returned from YouTube where I watched the trailer. It looks great and I should be able to convince Mrs. S to try the show because ER is her all time favorite TV series and ER’s Noah Wylie stars in Falling Skies. I also know Jessy Schram from the movie American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile and from the TV series Mad Men. Sarah Carter became a favorite of mine playing a young lawyer on the TV drama Shark starring James Woods. I am eager to watch Falling Skies!
Thank you very much for this heaping helping of sci-fi mewsic, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
Cataract surgery isn’t such a big deal as it was in years past. We know many people who’ve gone through this process with little to no complaints. I reckon the thought of just having one eye surgery and the prospect of another is just a bit daunting, you know? His eye looks a lot better this morning (4 days post-op). The swelling has gone down a lot but it’s not all gone. He has three different eye drops he must use, one twice a day and the other two three times a day. At bedtime, he must cover his eye with a gauze patch and a metal eye shield. These extra little things cut into our routine and we have to allot extra time for these things. Yesterday, he said he’s seeing a little better than before surgery so that’s great mews! We both appreciate your thoughtfulness, concerns, and prayers. We are so blessed to have such good friends! I’ll let him know there is no reason to be apprehensive about the procedure.
Every time I hear “A Place In Time” it makes me wish someone would reboot this series. It was great! I’m happy you and Mrs. Shady enjoyed the “Haven”. That’s another excellent show that ended too soon in my opinion but the way they ended it makes one think, maybe they’ll bring it back. I’m looking forward to season two of Stranger Things. That’s a show that really surprised me because I didn’t know how much I’d like it with many of the many characters being kids but it turned out to be really good. I think you and Mrs. Shady will like “Falling Skies”. I wouldn’t mind going back to rewatch the series. We were newly introed to Noah Wylie us with this show. We haven’t watched “ER” or else we would’ve have recognized him. Jessy Schram was in the Mad Men series? You’re right, she had a fling with Pete, didn’t she? Mad Men was such a great show, too. “Shark” is another TV show we aren’t familiar with and it’s good to know that Sarah Carter is in it, as well as James Woods.
Thanks for stopping by yesterday to listen to my Monday Mewsic Moves Me!
I vaguely recall the show 4400, but the others I’ve never seen nor heard of other than Falling Skies and I forgot to ever watch that. One of my favorite sci fi show themes was the one from Quantum Leap–great show and great theme music.

Tossing It Out
Lee, I remember Quantum Leap. I don’t recall ever watching it but I could’ve. After looking for it on Netflix and Amazon Prime, it sorta seems I may have seen some of the shows. I just wasn’t into this sort of TV programs in those days. Today is a different story and I really enjoy sci-fi stuff!
