This is day 13 of the A to Z Challenge. I first became intrigued with lighthouses in the early to mid 80s when DH began talking about going to Maine. The first time to see one in person came in 1989 when we finally made it to New England for our 10th anniversary. Ever since that time, I’ve been crazy about them and am looking forward to one more up close look at these haunting beacons of hope.
I must confess, although I’m speeding entirely too much time on the colorization of each illustration I am thoroughly enjoying manipulating the various brushes and colors to render each finished artwork. I duplicated my the final image to do further modifications to the sketch to add some texture.
Jesus is my lighthouse. It is He who steers me clear of dangers and calms the storm.
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day. I’m heading over to the A2Z headquarters to leave my calling card and maybe I’ll take notice to see who else came to the party. I’m closing with a new-to-me song that apparently was used in the Beijing Winter Olympics for Russian figure skaters, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov performance. I hope you equally enjoy Patrick Watson’s “Lighthouse” (← song lyrics link) as much as I did. This is CAAC signing off, I’ll be back tomorrow with the next letter in the alphabet!
