My Once Little Girls

It is now day 7 of the A to Z Challenge.  Where did the week go, right?  I revitalized my original pencil sketch I loosely based on my once little girls.  In the first illustration, I think I like the facial expressions on these little girls much better.  I changed the direction of the driveway leading it toward the back of the house.  The blank space in the original on the right side of the image bothered me so I fixed that by adding another tree to my final recreation.  Colorizing these early designs definitely bring to life the illustrations, don’t you agree?

In the first sketch I drew the dresses more alike.  It wasn’t uncommon for me to dress my daughters similarly but I decided to make a slight modification.  I used their favorites colors to tint their little dresses, except for the exact shade of green for DD#2. She prefers emerald green but that’s a bit too much for a little girl.  Spring green seemed perfect!

I’ll wind things down with a song by Reba McEntire that fits beautifully with my art theme, “I’ll Be”. If you’re a mother of daughters then you know just how true the lyrics spoken are in this song.  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day.  I’m heading over to the A2Z headquarters to leave my calling card and maybe I’ll take notice to see who else came to the party.  This is CAAC signing off, I’ll be back tomorrow with the next letter in the alphabet!

This song is a reminder that a mom is there for their daughters through it all. Here are the lyrics.
