Rain’s theme, “By the Fire” happens to work well with my Christmas greeting design for DH (Darling Husband). I found myself a bit rushed last month, I can’t imagine why, and I found myself scrolling through my pin-up sketches for inspiration. You probably recognize the pin-up girl from a previous share that’s been modified. Working with the original sketch, I placed her in a cosy Christmas environment beside a lovely roaring fire. That’s where many of us would like to be, I know I would. The final sketch I gave DH looked more like this. It wasn’t until I uploaded it to my computer that I realized the fireplace needed something more and so I used the brush options in Pixelmator Pro photo-editor to add some finishing touches. Now, doesn’t that look inviting?
I love the idea of a wood burning fireplace but I don’t like having to keep wood on hand nor having to bring it indoors on cold days. I think in our next house, we’d like to get a fireplace with a gas log to offer the same cosy feeling without the extra work.
This week’s I’m thankful DD#1 and LA are doing okay after their accident last week. The damage to the casual eye seem minimal but I haven’t heard what the mechanic has to say on about it, though. It doesn’t take much to drive the repair cost up on a vehicle. The good news is DD#1’s car is driveable. I’m thankful last week’s second winter storm wasn’t a big producer of snow but it was frigid cold a few nights. I’m thankful for the three days of sunny skies. That was so nice! I’m thankful the weekend begins for us this evening with tomorrow being DH’s off Friday.
Please kindly say a prayer for a sweet gal I met years ago on the penpalling circuit who I’m FB friends with. Her mother and step-dad passed away last week due to Covid. My heart is so heavy for her. 🥲
I’m heading over to Rain’s Garden to browse the gallery of artistry. I’m gonna play hooky tomorrow since it’s DH off-Friday but you’ll find my mid-month BOTB on Saturday. This is CAAC signing off with “Light My Fire” by the Doors!
