A new month is less than 48 hours away with January coming to a close. Today’s art prompt is GLOW. There’s the glow of a sunset or sunrise, the glow of celestial bodies in the night sky, the glow of neon lights, the glow of a fire burning, the glow of love, and dozens of other possibilities. Rain offered some excellent images to jump start my imagination. Why a few years back I did Procreate sketch of Moonlight Swans which fits the glow prompt. In the end, one thought came to mind when I pictured the word glow and that’s the glow of a woman expecting a child.
I recall when I was pregnant with our first. My BIL commented how I glowed. I didn’t see it. However, thinking back on it I think the glow he and others saw in me I believe was a deep happiness I had shining forth. I was on cloud 9 the whole time despite my morning sickness and even then I felt elated. I count myself blessed to experience carrying another life inside me once, twice, three times!
The pregnancy glow has me curious, is it real? According to The Science of ‘Pregnancy Glow’ article I read, it is indeed a fact. The increase blood volume and hormones in a woman’s body is one of the reasons she has the glowing appearance.
Earlier in the week, Eugenia posted her Monday word challenge ‘glimmer’ which got me to thinking about my illustration and how to tie the two together when I penned this verse.
Rick James released ‘Glow’ in 1985. James’ song is about his lady’s love making her glow and it makes her beautiful but you know James’ song works for expecting mothers, they glow and their beautiful so let your feeling show. 😉
Thanks for stopping in with your coffee for a peek at my masterpiece and …oh yeah for not spilling it on my artwork. 😉
