2019 The Little Mermaid #Art sketch Series ‘KING’ #AtoZChallenge

Thanks for joining in today.  If you missed previous posts in The Little Mermaid Artsketch series you can find them easily under Latest Mews in my side menu.  ☞ ☞ ☞

I didn’t need any kicks to the head to know wanted I wanted to sketch for today’s letter prompt, ‘K’. Using these easy steps, I drew Ariel’s father, the Sea KING of Atlantica!

Like all fathers, the King is overprotective of his daughter.  He’s adamant with his rule and prejudice of the human world forbidding any interaction with between the underwater kingdom and those barbaric land creatures. Naturally, a father with a stand like this is only going to cause a curious girl to rebel more and while he learns he is wrong in the end, as a parent I can’t blame him wanting to keep his princess safe.  Isn’t that why God gives us parents to safeguard us against the things we may unintentionally do to ourselves until we’re better equipped for handling more complicated choices? You betcha! 😉

[tweetthis]Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the #AtoZChallenge with my 6th-year participation in the April #blogfest. Join me this month with my #TheLittleMermaid characters #artsketch theme. K is for KING TRITON. #pencildrawing #Procreate #illustrations[/tweetthis]

I’m breaking away to join Ellen and Lorraine in 😻Friendly Fill-ins😻 who incidentally are doing the A to Z Challenge, too. 😉

1. I used to be able to do splits and cartwheels, but I no longer can. Well…I can do these things but the question is do I really want to?  Unfortunately, it’s best if I do not because of a) flexibility issues and b) it hurts.  The last time I did a cartwheel my wrists pained me for days.  That’s when I knew I was past those days. 🙁

2. I just can’t seem to find the purrfect house. We’re in the housing market and every time I fall in love with a place there is always some obstacle in the way. When we figure out a workaround, the property moves from active to pending.

3. I’m notorious for popping my chewing gum. This drives DH nuts but I can’t resist doing it because I like the sound.

4. There’s no use crying over past mistakes, what’s done is done. You have to find a way to forgive yourself or the situation and move forward for a happier life.
I totally let last week’s humor slip by. I think I have seaweed in my brains. Hopefully, this will make up for my goof for this Friday Sillies.

This is DH’s off-Friday which means I’ll be MIA in Blogosphere.  I invite you to leave a breadcrumb (direct post URL) in comments so I might find my way easily to you. For more alphabet fun, visit my fellow AtoZers participating in the month-long blogfest. Can you guess what I will illustrate for the letter K? Come back tomorrow for next installment in my Little Mermaid Artsketch Series to see!
