Blog Award,  Wordless Wednesday

#WW Morning Slice of Moon + the Mystery Blogger Award

Hello, Kittens and Dawgs, I’m still taking a break but I’m interrupting my down time to present the Mystery Blogger Award to a few of my fellow bloggers and while I’m here I decided to share a morning slice of moon taken on a chilly February morning. I displayed another photo taken the same day with my SWF fans.

Passed to me last month after the A to Z Challenge with the honor to receive the Mystery Blogger Award which I will now share with you the general guidelines for accepting this award.

Rule 1:  Put the award logo/image on your blog.

Rule 2:  List the rules.

Rule 3:  Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog. ✓

I’d like to a  very special thanks to Janet Miles for nominating me. You’re a peach! Now, insist you go visit her at Janet’s Smiles. 😀

Rule 4:  Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.

This step sounds like a cool way to get extra traffic to your blog but any who I’ll play along. 😉 The mastermind behind this nifty little award is a young kitten, Okoto Enigma’s Blog who obviously is pretty smart to come up with this ingenious idea.

Rule 5:  Tell your readers three things about yourself.

The first thing you may not know about me is I bleed easily. If I get a paper cut, you’d swear I lost a finger or somethin’

Secondly, I’m beautiful! Tossing hair in the wind. Wait, my hair is too short! Okay…you got me I’m beautiful on the inside (aren’t we all?) and as you guessed I’m a bit nuts.  I have a little white jacket to prove it, too. 😀

Third, I don’t know if you want to know this or not but I shave my legs every day. I can’t stand having the prickles. The good thing is keeping said routine causes the hair growth to slow down due to over shaving and if I miss a day my legs are still pretty smooth.

Rule 6:  You have to nominate 10 to 20 people.
  1. Lori from My Fragmented Journey
  2. Pam from Life Through My Eyes
  3. Amy from Amy’s Creative Pursuits
  4. Debbie from The Doglady’s Den
  5. Lisa from The Meaning of Me
  6. Ronel from Ronel the Mythmaker
  7. Mandy from Your Everyday Traveler (broken link removed)
  8. Eli from Coach Daddy
  9. Tamara Narayan, Author
  10. Photo Art by Claudia Willison

Rule 7:  Notify them.

Rule 8:  Ask your nominee any five questions of your choice, one weird or funny question.

My questions:

  • Where’s the strangest place you been?
  • Do you have any naval fuzz or toe jam?
  • Based on your pant size, what’s your IQ? (Intelligence Guide:   0 or smaller = “dumb blonde who cares if you’re a brunette”,   2-4  = “I don’t understand the question”   6-8 = “Getting by” 1  0-12 = “Smarty Pants”   14 -up = “Extraterrestrial” or   no answer = “I’m either too embarrassed to announce to the world how little I know or I’m far too modest to boast how smart I am”?
  • What’s the dumbest thing you ever did?
  • What’s the smartest thing you’ve done?

My answers to Janet’s questions.
  1.  Who is your favorite author? Me. No, really I’m not into literature so I don’t have a favorite author. My reading is strictly blogs and other internet sources.
  2. How long have you been blogging? This June will make seven years. Can you believe it, seven years? WOW, where does the time go?
  3. Have you ever been nominated for a major award? Yeah, I’ve gotten a few of these blog awards over the years. It’s kinda cool to get them just as long as I don’t get too many of the at once because meeting the requirements can be time-consuming.
  4. If you could play a musical instrument what would it be? I took piano for a short while when I was a kid but dropped it. My heart just wasn’t into it but now I’d love to know how to play, so I’d have to say a piano.
  5.  Who is Carmen Sandiego and why should I care where in the world he is? Isn’t he a spy or something? I’m with you, why should I care who this is?  If you find a reason to care then how about sharing it with me and maybe I’ll feel the same.
  6. Extra credit question, did I make you smile today? Absolutely! Anytime a blog friend does something nice for me makes me smile. 😀

Rule 9: Add a link to my best post. Hmm, how does one determine what her best post is? I checked my stats which shows  Friday Sillies: Babies is my most viewed post with nearly 400 visits all times and my top two posts in the past three months are #AprilA2Z Art Sketching Through the Alphabet “A” +#BoTB and #AprilA2Z Art Sketching Through the Alphabet “P”. Feel to visit any or all of my past entries!

Let me skedaddle back to my R&R but I certainly appreciate your visit and please remember to leave a breadcrumb (signature line) in comments so others can find you easier! 😉  Have a wonderful day!

      Lori,

No worries about declining the award. Participating in this sort of thing is a time sucker and if you don’t have it to give then it’s best to walk away. I knew this would be the case for some but I was hoping at the very least that in passing the award to others that it makes the recipient happy and it sounds like my mission was accomplished with you. 😉 Have a glorious weekend!

  • Tamara Narayan

Thank you so much for nominating me! Unfortunately, I’ll have to decline on following through with the steps. I just don’t have the time right now. Last time I accepted one of these, it took me almost two hours to go through all the steps and find people to nominate. I’ll admit it, I’m slow.

I don’t have hair too much on my legs which is great but now I have errant hairs growing on my chin. I’m a natural blond so..not answering that question but I feel I do something dumbass every day but I think I did something smart june1, 1980 at 12:15pm:)Congrats on the blog award

      Birgit,

June 1st, is that your anniversary? I’m a June Bride. Our 38th anniversary is on the 9th. I can’t believe how quickly the years past in a blur which makes me think about the next 30+ years if I’m fortunate to live that long, will it those years go by just as fast? Probably. Thanks for the congrats!

  • 15andmeowing

Congrats on your well deserved award. I shave every day too for the same reason 🙂

      Barbara,

It was a lovely morning but quite chilly. Maybe I’ll capture some beautiful sunrises this spring/summer! So far I haven’t had much luck finding the purrfect weather for it. Have a good weekend!

  • Crystal Collier

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a blog award. Those things were all the rage 4 or 5 years back and then suddenly, not so much. Of course, that was also during the high point of blogging where everyone and their dog had a blog. Ah, the good old days.

    Loved reading your answers.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Crystal,

Yeah, you don’t see blog awards very much these days. So, it was kinda neat to receive this after so many years. Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend!

  • Lisa @ The Meaning of Me

I love your moon photo – that is just gorgeous!
Thanks so much for the mention for the mystery blogger award. I’ve got a pretty full plate right now, so I can’t promise I’ll get to posting. But thank you so much!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Lisa,

You’re welcome for the mention and feel free to do this on your terms. It’s funny while I was cleaning up broken links I found an award given to me in 2010 which I did not fulfill so I’m going to get on that one ASAP. 🙂

  • scr4pl80

Great answers to my questions, Cathy! Thanks for taking the time from your “break” to play along. This is the first time I have ever been involved in an award and so I had to try it! Love the moon picture. Have a great “rest” of your time off!

  • Debbie D.

HI Cathy; You’re busier on your break than most of us in full swing! 🙂 It was fun reading your answers and learning more about you. It must be scary when you cut yourself! 😮 I’m too lazy to shave everyday, but it’s certainly more often in the summer. One of the perks’ of getting old is that hair growth slows down. I’m sure you’re just as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside! That’s a stunning night photo and the sliver of moon makes it wonderfully eerie. Thanks for the nomination. 🙂

    • Cathy Kennedy

Debbie, I know, I know I’m just crazy like this sometimes. I got the award and I didn’t want to just sit on it until I got back, so while I thought if I’m gonna play along I can share a weekly photo, too. I’m here responding and making visits to my readers while I’m fixing those pesky broken links that I never got done so my break really isn’t a break. That’s why I’m not committing to getting back into full swing mode just yet. I really need to walk away completely which I do on the weekends, so I’m doing that much right anyhow. 🙂

    • Cathy Kennedy

Amy, no worries! I understand completely and know that many bloggers do not like to do these sorts of thing. Thanks for letting me know, though. Have a good day!

  • McGuffy's Reader

Break? You? I am not sure about that! But, congratulations on the award! I shave every day, too. But, I am not as beautiful as you. Just sayin’. Hugs!

  • Thomas Anderson

    Hi, Cathy!

I enjoyed seeing that slice of moon your camera captured on that dark winter night.

Congratulations on receiving the Mystery Blogger Award from Janet. I never heard of that award, but I like the artwork on the logo. I read your answers with great interest. I can imagine how alarming it is when you cut yourself. I have taken blood thinners over the years and had the same problem. I am sure you are beautiful, Cathy, because beauty is as beauty does, and you have always done right by me. 🙂

If I may answer one of the questions you posed, I would like you to know that I found enough lint in my navel to knit Mrs. Shady a sweater for Christmas. 🙂 Congratulations also on your seven year blog anniversary coming up next month. I did some reading about the Carmen Sandiego game and how it has evolved over the years as an educational tool for children. It teaches geography, history, math and languages, and also teaches kids to have empathy for other cultures. The game also depicts minority women as strong, independent and intelligent.

As much as I love music, I was never very good at making mewsic, either by playing a mewsical instrument or by singing. That has always been a regret of mine, and it is why I am in awe of people who have the ability to make mewsic.

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Tom,

You know I used to find navel lint but I haven’t in years. I reckon it accumulates in your belly button from the type of clothes you wear. Do you have any clue to how it finds its way tucked in the folds of one’s’ navel? Thanks for the tidbits of Carmen Sandiego. I think I remember this now but I just forgot and wasn’t interested enough to look. You know the whole I’m taking a break from blogging thing had me busy doing things like repairing broken links and such craziness.

You’re too kind with your comments, my friend and I certainly appreciate the beautiful person that you are. Have a great week and thanks for visiting!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Lee, I keep trying to pull away but I keep getting sucked back in. Of course, I’m allowing myself the sense of feeling like I don’t have to be here if I don’t want to be and this sorta makes me feel like I’m on break. Don’t roll your eyes at me! I have a girl brain and it works differently. I know I shouldn’t blame that on being a girl, I’m just weird. 😀
