    Autumn Mums

Image captured with iPhone 4 Befunky vignette edge and copyright It’s autumntastic to have you join me in my not-so Wordless Wednesday. Every October, I set out a small fall-ish display. Nothing fancy, just a little cheery something offered as a friendly greeter to those who come to my door. My featured photo subjected to various Befunky effects…. “Summer1” effect  “Instant 2” effect  “Line Artopia1” effect The end of October approaches and with that comes Halloween, which has inspired today’s musical flashback…   It’s so nice of you to come by & I hope you’ll decide to make it a repeat visit each week to share in my musical memories…

    Busy as a bee

The change in season signals this little guy to make ready for winter. Lately, I’m busy as a bee. Mainly it’s because I’m getting ready to spend time with DH in our annual staycation. That means you won’t see me around Blogosphere but I know you won’t mind and maybe you are wishing you can do the same thing. No, not spend time with my DH but with your significant other. For more WW connections, scroll to the top of my Home page and click on Daily Blog Hops. I don’t mind being busy and I don’t mind working because I am very happy doing it. You might even find…

    Wings of an eagle

It’s wonderful to have you be a part of my (not-so) Wordless Wednesday post. While running errands last Sunday, we happened upon this eagle statue at an office complex. I couldn’t resist snapping a shot to share with you. I love it when I just happen upon a photo opportunity. A different shot with a little photo editing to add drama to my this presentation. Scroll to the top of my Home page for Daily Blog Hops for a list of WW communities. My photo-art inspired this week’s music expressions with this song.   Mommy Time Out and I would like to thank you for joining us for another edition…

    Indian Boundary Lake

Thanks for joining me for Wordless Wednesday.  I took today’s photo off Cherohala Skyway at the Indian Boundary Recreation Area. In my opinion, this beautiful lake nestled in the mountains has a striking resemblance of Jordan Pond on Bar Island, Maine in Acadia National Park. Not pictured in the above photo is a foot trail that circles the lake. Below is another gorgeous view from this woodsy access trail. Isn’t this peaceful? Let’s flashback Wayback Wednesday alphabet style continuing with the letter “A“!   Alicia Keys     Angela from Mommy Time Out and I would like to thank you for joining us for another edition of Wayback Wednesdays.  To…

    Bald River Falls

Bald River Falls off Cherohala Skyway Last week’s WW contribution was a view from the  Cherohala Skyway. This week, I am submitting for your pleasure another view that’s off the beaten path so to speak. Bald River Falls is situated about 4.5 off the Cherohala Skyway, but the drive is worth it. This photo is easily captured from your window, but I got out of the car before snapping my camera. Being the somewhat perfectionist that I am, I try to incorporate musical inspiration to go along with my photo selection of the week. This doesn’t always work too well. Thus, I have decided a new routine in picking…

    Cherohala Skyway

View from Cherohala Skyway Today’s WW contribution features this 36-mile stretch of beautiful scenic highway from Robbinsville, North Carolina to Tellico Plains, Tennessee crossing two national forests: Cherokee and Nantahala thus giving it is name Chero-hala .  The gorgeous views and cool summer breeze appeals to all who visit, but doubles as something extra for motorcyclist and sports car enthusiasts – a thrilling drive along a very long, steep, switching roadway. Thank you for joining Angela from Mommy Time Out and myself for another edition of Wayback Wednesdays. The 60s popular folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, like many artists, wrote the music to this work-in-progress before lyrical inspiration struck for the piece. On February 19,…

    The Wheel

The Wheel at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Last week, I talked a little about Pigeon Forge’s newest area attraction, The Island, here. Check it out, if you want.  This photo makes me think of summertime. Do you remember going to those traveling carnivals? Oh. My. Goodness! I sure do and what fun I had – sticky cotton candy, hot dogs, thrilling rides, stuffed toy animals, and gold-fish. Maybe, this music video will create a cascade of memories of your by-gone days spent at the carnival… Angela from Mommy Time Out and I would like to thank you for joining us for another edition of  Wayback Wednesdays!  To participate…

    Monkeying around

Photographed in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee I captured this image of King Kong hanging from the Empire State Building Friday in the Smoky’s! Okay, not really. This is such a cool looking place! I’ve wanted to get the perfect picture to share with you for Wordless Wednesday for a long time and finally I am able to do it.  I would love it, if you would join the fun. Summertime

This week has been in the 80s. That’s hot, hot, hot! Does this mean it’s summer already? Nope, but it sure does feel like it. The past 6-days I haven’t been in Blogosphere because I’ve been in the hospital due to a Crohn’s related illness (Read my news flash, here). And, like the phoenix, I have risen from my sickbed and to pull together an all-in-one post of three smashing fun memes I love! That being said, allow me to introduce you to the best virtual dance party in Blogosphere which I co-host with a few of my lovelies: XmasDolly, JAmericanSpice, Stacy Uncorked, and this month’s honorary co-host Everyday Life.…

    Feeling Groovy

Snapped while on our day trip to the Bluegrass state (click the link to see more photos) last Friday The Legend of the Dogwood “When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew To a towering size with a lovely hue. Its branches were strong and interwoven, And for Christ’s cross its timbers were chosen. “Being distressed at the use of the wood, Christ made a promise which still holds good: ‘Never again shall the dogwood grow To be large enough for a tree, and so, Slender and twisted it shall always be, With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see. “’The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown, And in the blossom’s…
