Will Baird

Good morning, kittens & dawgs while clicking through the “Crowd Picks” on ReverbNation my ears perked when I heard today’s featured artist. His mellow rock style compares with James Taylor.  Allow me to introduce Will Baird to you!

Currently, he’s focusing on writing, recording, and performing in clubs and church festivals in New England, New York, and Nashville Tennessee.

Electric Hippo #music

Good morning, kittens & dawgs this morning’s ReverbNation pick is Electric Hippo!

The artists’ bio reads:

Phiilo (formerly Electric Hippo) ties together the power of EDM with the rhythm and fluidity of funk, jazz, rock, and soul. Live instruments—primarily Nick’s distinct and technical style of electric guitar—are incorporated alongside experiments in digital sound production and Jonny’s broad vocal range. These components, while designed individually with high attention to detail, combine to create what is best described as stylistic electronic compositions.

After meeting in Boulder, Colorado, Nick and Jonny capitalized on a unique musical chemistry and immediately started jamming, writing what would become the first few Electric Hippo singles (including “Closer,” which layers silky ambience, RnB vocals, and a punchy arena synth). The song-writing process reflects each member’s forte: Nick, as instrumentalist, producer, and sound engineer, creates the musical composition and backbone, while Jonny writes and records vocal melodies. Unafraid to experiment, and dedicated to bringing listeners new sounds, Electric Hippo is poised to fill a crucial void in the ever-changing landscape of modern electronic music.

Bringing to you, hopefully, a new-to-you discovery, I give you Phiilo!

Follow Electric Hippo on one or all of these social media connections!

If you’re a new and upcoming artist desiring a little extra play time, please pitch me and I’ll plug your tunes in for my readers to enjoy. Have a songsational Saturday!

Saturday Song-suasion 57: Noah

Today’s featured artist is another ReverbNation introduction. This young artist has made a name for himself in the music industry. Honestly, I have not heard of him before now. His cover of Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO went viral in less than a week receiving 8M views. It’s now more than 21M and this is my first time seeing it….

If his newly gained fame on the world-wide web wasn’t enough, his cover played on several U.S. & European radio stations, landed him a spot on the Late Night Show with Jay Leno, and recently a singing gig on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

This dude has been busy…while working on his own music, an Americana pop & smokey bluesy mix, he opens for other artists like Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Neon Trees, Cobra Starship, Matt Nathanson, & Matisyahu and last month his début album launched; reaching #3 on iTunes.  Here’s a sample from Among the Wildest Things….

Currently, Noah is on an 80 date college tour around the country. For you Glee fan, I spotted a tweet that Noah joins the season 6 cast, as a shy, transfer student named Roderick.

Thank you for taking time out of your weekend in hopping over to listen to the music! I hope you enjoyed your visit. In fact, I hope you enjoyed it so much that you cannot wait to tell your friends. Go ahead, hit the share (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) button! You know you wanna. 😉

Be sure to visit only1noah.com. Stay in the loop, find out what’s going on with Noah on Twitter & Facebook!

Have a songsational Saturday!

Followed by the amazing rock strings of @Spinphonyladies.

I like Sarah McLaughlin, so this next artist I picked up on my radar from across the pond and I am her newest ReverbNation fan. Please, listen to Million Miles by Miranda Dickinson, here.
