#BOTB Star Spangled Banner Showdown ~ Spirit VS #MadisonRising

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

I thought it was only fitting for July 1st edition of BOTB to celebrate and honor our country’s hard fight against the Brits at Fort McHenry.

This version of the Star Spangled Banner is not to be considered in today’s showdown. I simply wanted to share it with you because of the swell of pride I felt listening to the story of the spirit of the American people and Francis Scott Key inspiration behind our national anthem.

I’m a traditionalist, especially when it comes to the national anthem. However, I decided to go against the natural order of things by picking two rock versions for this #BOTB Star Spangled Banner showdown ~ Spirit VS Madison Rising!

#HappyBirthday to you! #December

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

HappyDecemberBirthdayI’m rather partial to December babies because…I’m one! Yep, the 14th will be my…ehem…53rd birthday. Did I actually say that? Yep, I’m afraid I did. *smack forehead*

Anywho, when I was young I knew what it was like to have my special day swept away by the prominence of Christmas and through limited understanding I knew Jesus’ birth trumped mine any ole day, but I thought it would be nice if others kinda gave me a wee bit of attention. Selfish? Yeah, just a little!

Thankfully, DH and my children made up in spades for my big celebration bash each year and now I feel it my obligation to make others of my kind feel that equal specialness. Let’s give a round of applauds to these lovely birthday bloggers!

Happy Birthday to You

Let’s face it, we’re all getting older. I don’t like it. You don’t like it. Turning another year older is better than the alternative, right? Yep!

Birthdays should not be gloomy. Birthdays should be a happy. A time for celebrating YOUR special day!

Like a brilliant light (maybe it came from so many candles aglow on my birthday this past year), the notion popped in my mind, “Why not honor my lovelies in Blogosphere on her/his birthday?

Everyone likes being remembered on their birthday, even if it’s a short warm, fuzzy message. Speaking from experience this tiny gesture really brightens my day and if I were a betting gal, then I’d have to say it does the same for you, too.

Last Thursday, I posed my 2TQ at the bottom of a very loooong post to see if whose interested in joining some birthday fun.  I got a few nibbles, but not nearly enough to make me hop for joy. I want soooo much to spotlight you — MY FRIENDS on the one day a year which highlights you because….specialtome

With that in mind, I’m casting my hook with a slightly revamped version of my T2Q with the hope to generate more interest. No harm ever comes from asking again, right? 😀

1. Do you think it would be a fun feature on my blog to send out birthday greetings?

2. Would you be interested in participating in this new weekly or monthly spotlight on my blog? If so, please leave your birthday (month, day,  & year or what you’re most comfortable doing) and your home page URL in my comments.

This post is linking up with two of my favorite blog hops. In Miss Jenny’s weekly Alphabe-Thursday classroom, today’s homework assignments is the letter “H” and my questions are linking up with Miss Amanda in her latest edition of Thursday Two Questions.  Why not come join us?

This week’s theme is “Your Pick”.  In honor of President’s Day….

How would the Presidents who we honor this month celebrate their birthdays? I imagine there would be a large formal party, wouldn’t you? Let’s have our own presidential birthday celebration. Beginning with…

President Abraham Lincoln born, February 12, 1809, was fond of the opera. He particularly liked Martha, by Freierich von Flowtow, according to If Abraham Lincoln Had An iPod.

General George Washington, served as our nation’s first president. Born in the year of the Lord 1732 on February 22nd, we honor his birth.

Today the sons and daughters of the American Revolutionary and Civil War celebrate  birthdays with greater enthusiasm. Let’s kick of President’s Day with this these smash hits…

Happy Birthday to Our Founding Fathers – George Washington & Abraham Lincoln!

My DH has today off, so I’m going to spend it with him, but I’ll be visiting you tomorrow. What music is moving you this Monday?
