A night sky with Christmas lights and luminaries #SWF

Good-morning, kittens & dawg! It’s Christmas time and it’s the first weekend in December. And…what does that mean to me, you ask. Probably nothing at all unless you’re familiar with Dillsboro, North Carolina. Unfortunately, we’re experiencing a rainy weekend and we have an unfavorable chance of going to see the luminaries. Last year, we visited and I took lots of photos. Lucky for you coz today’s Skywatch Friday contribution is one such image I captured!

Don’t let the rain discourage you, enjoy Christmas in Dillsboro, North Carolina from the comfort of your home. That’s a shoot! Thanks for stopping by. Until we meet on the other side of the lens next, have a foto-tastic day!

  1. Like a fairytale! I like the totally illuminated houses in the States. This is not as widespread in Germany.
(Maybe because our energy costs are extremely high?)

    1. I never tire of seeing homes & business lit up at Christmas time. I love the magical sense it gives me to see all the lights! We do not decorate the outside of our home with lights because it’s such a difficult job. I truly admire those who are devoted to doing this annually without fail. I also marveled thinking how expensive their utilities must cost during the month of December. I know energy costs are expensive everywhere, but thankfully in our immediate area our electricity cost is less than other parts of the USA. I’m grateful, too. I guess those who are dedicated to bringing others a lot of happiness at Christmas set their bill to spread across the year so they it doesn’t hit their wallet hard at one shot. Have a joyful weekend with your family snapping pictures.
