#AprilA2Z Art Sketching through the Alphabet “Y”

Hello, Kitten & Dawgs, these last few letters in the alphabet tested my thinker and that’s not a yarn but I came up with an excellent subject for the letter “Y”. Yahoo! No, No, I’m not going to doodle a Yahoo log for you. I give you a YAWN…a baby yawn!

Yawning babies are so cute.

Too bad youngins grow up and get all yackety-yak talkin’ back at ya makin’ ya yelp. 🙂

Hopefully, what I share with you every day will encourage you to do something that interests you that you’ve long put off because like me you just don’t think you can. My advice is, just do it! Maybe, you’ll be surprised. I know I was! 🙂

  1. This is very well done…so sweet and soft… as ne can see your heart in this one. This is much better than a crying baby.

  2. Seeing the baby yawn made me yawn since after all yawns are contagious. My youngest daughter recently informed me that she’s going to have another baby in November. These grandkids have been coming like crazy over the past few years!

  3. Oh my! I’m so tired, This yawning baby makes me want to take a nap! One more letter to go! Is that a light at the end of the tunnel?

    1. Mary,

I’m a bit tired this morning, too. I’m playing catch up after being away from Blogosphere all weekend. I hope I can do it all today! Thanks for sticking with me during the A2Z Challenge, my friend. 🙂

  4. I think you capture the adorable little yawn well. Usually I’ll take the Yaketty yak stageover the baby stage, but the yawns are precious.

    1. Lori, a yaketty baby is a cute idea but sketching that might take a bit more imagination than I have at the moment. 🙂

  5. A yawning baby is a quiet one. 🙂 Very cute, Cathy. Will you be sketching a Zebra tomorrow? 😉 Can you believe there’s only one more day? Yay us!

    1. Debbie,

Yawning babies are cute ones, too. Yeah, I sketched a zebra for my final post. I sure appreciate you sticking with me throughout April’s madness!

  6. Hi, Cathy!

Happy T-G-I-Y-Saturday to you, dear friend! Your sketch series has certainly not been a yawn. In today’s drawing, you captured an infant’s yawn very nicely. The baby looks snug as a bug in a rug wrapped in a blankie. I’m curious as a Cathy. Was this sketch inspired by memories of your own children at that age, or perhaps even an old picture of one of them? This image of an innocent, yawning baby reminds us that we all start out and end up the same way – toothless and bald. 🙂 Seriously though, we all start out fresh and innocent. Many of the things that happen to us as along the way are unavoidable, but the choices each of us makes, including the choice of how to respond to adversity, makes a big difference in how we turn out.

Thank you very much, dear friend Cathy, and have a great weekend! Z you next time! 🙂

    1. Tom,

Yawning babies are so precious. It always amazed me when I bathed our wee ones how easily they fell asleep after bathing them. I know I feel cozy when I’m snuggled up and find it easier to fall asleep. I just wish I could sleep as soundly as a baby. Thanks for visiting, my friend!

  7. Awwww too cute! That was a great idea, but your “yawning” is making me sleepy. I’m having trouble with my linky program. I’ll let you know tomorrow. Have a great weekend my friend. I’m still fighting with my new computer. it’s making everything act strange. 🙁 Anyway our alphabet is almost over! WHEW! Didn’t think I was going to make it there for a minute! hahaha Big hugs.

    1. Marie, I appreciate you stopping by. I know you’ve had your hands full with the new computer, health issues, and the fun raiser for Willie. Have a good week, my friend!
