Oh yes…kisses are very important. I love giving them and love receiving. These images are all great
Kissing and kisses seem to be popular topics today.
Those are some beautiful photos. The stories behind them are so remarkable. Love them.
Love your post today. Those vintage pictures are Fabulous with a capital F!! My favorite is the first one. Love the story behind it too. Great pics you chose.

Michele, I’m happy that you enjoyed my Kisses. lol
I love the hair styles of the girls in the picture with the man with lip prints all over his face. The one girl on the left looks like she’s finding it disgusting that the other girl is kissing him. haha
My most favorite of all of these photos is of the baby kissing the puppy. Just precious!
Thanks for another great post and the link to the sailor kiss photo story. 🙂
Have a blessed day!
Suzanne, you’re not the only one to comment on liking the little girl kissing her puppy the best. It’s hard to not like these cute, precious Kodak moments.
Those are some vintage kisses, indeed! I love the angle you took on this one.

#AtoZChallenge K is for Karen
Mary, I love the romance of each vintage kiss image! Kisses aren’t captured like this too much these days and they should be. ?
This is such a cute post Cathy 🙂 I really liked the sweet and strange kisses pics ….Read your other post on Kisses as well..Was surprised to know that there are 41 types of Kisses 😀
Well I believe kisses are very important as its a way of showing your affection …

P.S.: I am unable to link up for the wordless wednesday, may be some problem. Will try again later!
Srivi, Kisses are a universal language affection. Kisses give comfort, speeds healing, and makes one happy inside. I think everyone should get a kiss a day to keep the doctor away. 😀
The last line should be practiced 🙂 Totally agree 😀
I get at least two at the bus stop every morning!! Ha. They would fall under the cut…. and often wet variety. My son stands at the other end of the bus line and gives a subtle nod of his head — so I will enjoy the two from daughters as long as I have them. LOL
As for Left Brain – well he’s been working a lot and away, so I suspect the next one will be a loooooooong one. haha.
I love that soldier one – what a great moment in history.
Les, Well I expect you to get lots of those sweet, messy kisses since you still have young ones. After they getting older, then it becomes a painstaking, embarrassing job. They forget how much they enjoyed doing it and don’t think about how important it means to Mom. Those long kisses are the best! I think it’s great when couples kiss like they did when they dated, you know? That keeps the passion alive in a relationship.
Kisses are an important part of being affectionate with one another. As for getting or receiving kisses, I can’t recall the last time, probably ten years ago or something like that. If you don’t count my sisters kissing me hello on the cheek.
Jeffrey, sure, sister kisses count, too. 😀
You got some pretty infamous kisses there that’s for sure. Thanks for sharing. I’m off to dreamland. I’m bushed today!!!
Hi, dear Cathy!
I really enjoyed seeing all these vintage photos of various types of kisses. My favorite is the little girl kissing her puppy because innocent, unconditional love is the kind I most admire. We were discussing Dinah Shore recently and I’d like to remind you that she ended every episode of her TV program by blowing a kiss at the audience, much the same as Marilyn is doing in the pic you posted. Did you know that there is a huge statue in Sarasota commemorating the historic photo of the sailor giving the nurse the Unconditional Surrender Kiss? I have driven past it many times and, needless to say, it’s a real attention grabber. Some locals love it and some hate it:

If I’m not mistaken, your last picture is from the movie From Here To Eternity (or is it From Here To Maternity? 🙂
Thank you very much for a great post about kisses, dear friend Cathy!
Tom, I love all kinds of kisses, but the little girl kissing her puppy is the cutest, sweetest of them all. The innocence of little girl kisses are simply precious and I loved it when my once little daughters filled my face with them. Thanks for the link to the statue of sailor kissing the nurse. I think it’s rather nice. I think I would like it better if it were an all bronze, but regardless I think it’s really neat and would love to see it in person. Oh yeah, the last picture of the kissing scene on the beach is from Here to Eternity, but your title is better. lol
