On Sunday, before venturing out to do our dreaded grocery shopping, we drove downtown.
Fences are always placed where I do not want them, so I just make the most of the opportunity. This is a tough picture to capture. I either over-expose or under-expose the image too much. The less offender of the two evils is under-exposed. At least, I like how my subject is in silhouette against a gorgeous blue sky.
Thank you for making me apart of your day. Please leave your comments footprints so that I know you came and I will hop over to your place soon. Have a fototastic day!

That is most definitely a great way to master a tough lighting situation – a silhouette.
Hahaha – funny, you caught my car in your last picture: Tuffie, our surf-mobile 😉
Hey, you should have stopped to say hello then! lol Yep, low lighting is tricky. But, silhouettes turn a bad situation into a good opportunity. 😀
love the silhouette..I know how tricky it can be..but the burial spot is also nice…happy WW 🙂
Awww – love those cats!
Thank you for sharing your photos at the new home for Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday) at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/p/other-wordless-wednesday.html. I hope to see you each week!
Lovely photos! My fave is the first one. Silhouette photos are always nice and give a more dramatic feel =) #ww
I like the silhouette too. Great subject for this technique.
Great statues! I’m going back to TN in December and shall try to explore Knoxville more.
Lovin’ your pics! Thanks so much for sharing. I don’t have a button for WW, but maybe I better make one. I’ll let you know. As far as the sun aren’t you supposed to have it at your back or something like that? I’m learning too! hehehe have a great day… I do so love these type of pics. 🙂
That naughty sun messes photos up for me too, Cathy. LOL, at least it is a good excuse ☺(for me)
I love all the interesting features & buildings, thanks for the tour! And thank you for this weeks award! there is something wrong with your code grabber, so I linked back to your blog title above the explanation of the award. Glad you enjoyed my “purple bloomers” last week ☺

Love the photo of the statue. Looks very majestic!
I love learning more and more history! Thank you.
Nice pictures, I love that sculpture !!
I also don’t like fences…Great pictures. Interesting to see a some diferrent architekture as ours (in Germany).
Thanks for hosting, have a nice day
Love the first one! nice capture against the blue sky background. I love towns with so much history, I walked around ours on the weekend (its a very brief walk), and it’s amazing to see how much history there is.
Always interesting history on your blog. I too have lots of fences I have to shoot through or around. Like you I make the best of it.
I like the way you composed your photo of the Spanish War Vet statue. It came out quite nice with the blue sky in the back.
