Wedding Songs

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays!  This week’s theme is wedding songs and it so happnes we got married in June.  We’ll celebrate our 45th anniversary on my sister’s birthday on the 9th.  I did a quick Brave search for popular wedding songs from the 70s and this song list came back:

  1. “Three Times A Lady” by The Commodores
  2. “You’re The First, The Last, My Everything” by Barry White
  3. “Your Song” by Elton John
  4. “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” by Stevie Wonder
  5. “How Deep Is Your Love” by Bee Gees
  6. “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder
  7. “Dancing Queen” by ABBA
  8. “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green
  9. “The Way We Were” by Barbra Streisand
  10. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.

The 4M co-hostess and guidelines can be found in my side menu. It’s your turn to share the music, link up, and join the fun!

As I mentioned last week, I’m doing things different this summer.  I love comments but it makes it difficult to truly to keep up with everyone while I’m taking a blogging break so I want to encourage you if you can to click the “like” button or simply drop an emoji in comments.  That’s all I need to know that you stopped by.

Rounding things up let me mention our dance partner, Driller’s Place part of Arkansas was hit hard by 7 tornadoes last week.  Thankfully, he and his wife are okay.  Please keep those folks in your prayers as they rebuilt their homes, lives, and communities after such a devastation. Have a boogietastic week!

Last fall while DH and I enjoyed browsing antique stores on our staycation, he got this sweet Precious Moments “Love Lifted Me (1977)” figurine for me.

  1. Happy Anniversary hope you both have a great day and Happy Birthday to your sister. Was she a bridesmaid?
Great song list absolutely spot on . 😌💜

    1. My sister is nine years younger than me. At the time, I didn’t think to include her as one but I wish I had. She thought it was pretty cool that we got married on her birthday, though.

  2. I saw this post yesterday, but we were busy and I never commented. I’m glad John and his family are okay. They celebrated their 50th anniversary and not in the way they had planned.

    Love your playlist.

Have a fabulous day and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

  3. WOW!!! I hadn’t even read the theme before I posted, but how perfect is it for me? The most popular wedding song when we got married was Paul Stucky’s, “The Wedding Song” and I didn’t even include it in my post. Thank you so much for reaching out and checking on us and thanks for the shout out here. Have a blessed anniversary celebration. I cannot believe we have a completely different playlist for this occasion. Have a blessed break.
