This month, Naila Moon will be our honorary co-conductor. Thanks for joining us! Let’s get this dance party started, shall we? This week’s theme is “Wedding Songs” pick.

It just so happens this coming Saturday, we’ll celebrate our 33rd anniversary. To my DH, let me just say, WE’VE ONLY JUST BEGUN!

Happy Anniversary, DH! Love forever and always, your best girl

The Carpenter’s 1972 #2 billboard hit did not play at our wedding but it would have been awesome had it been one of our choices. Incidentally, I stumbled upon the most interesting trivia. Did you know We Only Just Begun was originally written for a bank TV ad? Who would have guessed, huh?

Our wedding song picks were two of our favorites by Bread. One of the two was SWEET SURRENDER!

The line from this song, You keep your rights, I’ll take your nights. No one can lose when we turn the lights out actually embarrassed me when sung at our wedding. That was then, this is now. I may sing these words myself…eh em…just saying.

Wow, it’s smokin’ in here! Let’s keep moving, shall we?

  1. Wow! Since ’72. Congrats! Love the songs. Carpenters have been a favorite of mine since I was a teen. Thanks for sharing.

  2. OMG REALLY IT’S YOUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY??? HOW IRONIC THAT WE WOULD HAVE THIS THEME TODAY LOL!!!! TOO COOL…. WAIT DID I FORGET SOMETHING… Did we plan this??? Nahhhhhhhh HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY FRIEND! AWWWWW HUGSSSSSSS TO BOTH OF YOU. GREAT PICKS (FOR YOUR WEDDING TOO), AND no kidding a bank ad – now that’s too funny! LOL OH AND the 2nd prize is no longer pending it’s for sure.

  3. Happy Anniversary. I was young too (for my first marriage) 19 years old and a baby to boot. 😉
It is rare to see long marriages and I love that you have.

This song I love. I have been told that I sound like her when I sing. Maybe I will video tape myself singing it and post it. hmmm…

ANyway, here is to many more years for you.

  4. Happy Anniversary! 33 years wow! So you were a June bride at 17 – classic! But what impresses me really is your 33 years together. That is quite an inspiration to some like me. I seldom hear Bread’s Sweet Surrender so I’m glad you featured that too. Happy Monday.

  5. Awwww! Happy (early) Anniversary! 33 is an awesome number! 😉 I’m giggling that you were embarrassed by the lyrics of the one song…funny how that is, isn’t it? 😉 LOVE both your choices – no yawn-fest here! 😉 I never knew that about the “We’ve Only Just Begun” – for a bank ad? Crazy! 🙂 Have a great week, Cathy! 🙂

You Make Me Feel… I Don’t Want This Night To End so Tonight Is The Night – Marry Me, say I Do, Then let’s dance the Macarena

  6. Happy Anniversary, 33 years is awesome 🙂

I love your two picks and to be honest, I was a little worried we all were going to have a lot of the same. I have never heard the Bread song, I loved it. Oh, and the trivia about ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’ how interesting, I love that song.

    1. Bread is one of my favorite 70s group. The other Bread song sung at our wedding was “If”. That one is very popular, I’m sure you’ve heard it before. It’s great song!
