Unforgettable 2015

Unforgettable! 2015? Yep, last year was precisely that…unforgettable. When one’s sole income ceases, as ours did, with DH’s lay-off in July then that sort of thing will forever stick in the back of my mind. I could had let these bad circumstances rob my joy or I could make the best of the situation. That’s what I did. I pushed through it. DH enjoyed more trips to the mountains. This gave me more photo ops to share with you. Even though I wasn’t present every day, I did my best to do return visits. I wanted my blogging life to remain consistent during this transition. We are still in limbo. DH continues to job hunt. However, it’s only a matter of time before the “right” position opens and we’ll be ready for it. Meanwhile, I will enjoy our together time and sharing myself with you a few days a week. I appreciate your understanding! ?

Blogosphere was an unforgettable year, too. WordPress.Com Annual Report sums things up by saying this about Curious as a Cathy…

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 15,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

My longest blogging streak ran for 64 days from January 5th through March 9th. I didn’t understand why April wasn’t included in that tally with my participation in April’s A to Z Blogging Challenge, though. It came as no surprise to find my best day was mid-week with my Wordless Wednesday posts.

Music and photography are two of my favorite passions. Here are my top five posts from 2015:

Winter at Mingus Mill #WW

#WW Bicyclists

Mad World #BoTB

Twin Peaks Photoart #WW

Spirit of Christmas #BoTB showdown

These interests won’t change in the new year. I plan to keep up the pace pursing my love for music and photography. However, none of these blog statics would matter if it were for my loyal readers. I want to thank y’all for your faithfulness and support. Also, I want to give special thanks to my top commenters.

Liz from Laws of Gravity

Please give these few a round of applauds and I ask you to hop over to their sites to give a little pat on the back of these lovelies in comments. That will be an awesome way to start 2016, don’t you think? 😉

I’m looking forward to getting to know you a little better in 2016 because… you’re Unforgettable!

Good-bye, Natalie, thank you for the music!

I hope you’ll join my Wordless Wednesday linky party tomorrow evening at 8pm. Let’s keep the music flowing; it’s time to step out on the dance floor with Marie and the 4M crew, so follow me!

  1. Definitely quite a year.
I pray your husband will find a great job soon!

I love this song by Nat!

Happy New Year Cathy! Thanks for sharing your spirit as you take things in stride. *HUGS*

    1. Linda, thanks for the encouragement! There are many people in the same boat these days. I’m happy we are in a good place in our lives where for now we aren’t in a near panic. God is preparing the way for us, I know.

  2. So glad that you pushed through the year and shared your lovely photographs and wisdom with us! The blogosphere simply would not be the same without you!
And so sad about Natalie. What a glorious voice. Heaven’s choir just got a little bit better. 🙂

    1. Ahhh, thanks Les! You’re such a sweetheart for saying such kind things. I’m just glad a hung around despite our circumstances because I think I’ve gotten more out of the deal with the constant love and support from wonderful friends such as you.

    1. Steve, I know what you mean. Natalie Cole is the same age as my aunt & that’s only 10 years older than me. It’s funny how I now think 60s & 70s isn’t so old anymore. The best New Year wishes to you, my friend!

    1. Alex, thanks for the prayers. This I trust everything is in God’s perfect timing. Meanwhile I plan to take your advice – enjoy life & DH. In the past we haven’t had this sort of leisure to do so. It’s nice not feeling pressure to act immediately & to wait for the best opportunity. It’s always sad when a celebrity passes, especially when it’s related to other causes beside natural ones. My hopes for you & yours this year is wonderful in every way!

  3. Happy to be a regular here. You are one of my touchstones to “home”.

Have a great 2016 and hope all will be looking up on the economic front–for all of us.

    1. Lee, I feel privileged to be your touchstone. It amazes me just a little when I meet someone from here who lives elsewhere such as you or someone from my home state; that’s one of the beauties of the Internet bringing people closer in a new way. I would have not known you had it not been for the blogging community and I’m happy we met on this super highway! I’m SO with you on the hopes for finances to be on the up swing in 2016. My faith is unmoved & I believe God will shower nothing less than His goodness on you (your wife) & me (my DH).?

    1. The door is always open for visits provided my hosting site or other technical issues don’t keep said “door” is jammed. I shall look forward to more fun with you this new year!

  4. Hi, dear Cathy!

2015 is “unforgettable in every way,” ending with the death of that great songstress, Natalie Cole.

Congratulations to you on completing a very successful year of blogging. I wish you an even better year in 2016 and hope it is matched in your private life with exciting and rewarding new opportunities for you and your husband.

    God bless, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom, ahhh, you’re too kind! I know God has a plan for us. We have to be patient for direction. I believe in the coming days it’ll all be made known to us. Sharing Blogosphere with such a dear friend like you will be a pleasure. I look forward to music education and humorous write ups on your site. May God bless you and yours throughout the coming year!

  5. Congratulations on spitting in the face of disappointment and misery. My ex-husband lost his job once. It took a year for him to find another one. During that time, I began a new career. It didn’t replace my husband’s income, but it helped. It was also a rewarding job. When God closes a door, he opens a window.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Janie, lay-offs are nothing new to us. DH has seen several of them in our 36 years of marriage. The longest to date period of unemployment was in the late 90s. That was really rough, but it taught me so much. We are hoping something in town opens up, but we may have to consider going outside our comfort zone to find a good paying position. I totally agree when God closes a door, He opens a window. Let’s hope we squeeze through that window after indulging over the holidays. lol Thanks, my friend for your encouragement.
