
This is little girl is my mother. If I had to guess, I would say Mom was the first grade when this picture was made because it seems she has all of her baby teeth still. The original photo is quite damaged. I decided to restore it using a Pixelmator Pro.

The fixes were quite simple. I used the tool to repair tears in the old photograph, then I converted the image to B&W then turned on the monochrome feature with brown as the selected color to make it more closely resemble the original aged print. It could be that it the film was black and white.

I did use the “Ethereal” filter to soften the old picture.
In honor of my mother, I thought I’d dig through the music archives of 1951 to see what song was at the top of the billboard chart and this is what I found by Nat King Cole.
