Tommee Proffit The Birth of a King album playlist

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Howdy-hi, folks!  We’re in the last month of the year which means on the Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me dance floor we’ll be sharing Christmas music each week throughout December.  If you’re a Grinch or Scrooge type then you might want to sit this one out…or you could just hang around, maybe the sounds of Christmas will melt your cold hearts into a pile of warm goo.

It absolutely amazes me to read or hear about aspiring and seasoned musical talents who move to Nashville, TN.  Although we’ve visited the music capital of the world a handful of times, we haven’t seen any celebrities to our knowledge.  Today’s discovery is of these talents now residing in Nashville, Tommee Profitt.  I learned he’s not only a recording artist but a producer, songwriter, and an award winning TV/movie composer.  I didn’t know all of this when I came across his various artist 2020 Christmas album playlist. We’re in the home stretch with last minute holiday preparations to tend to and I invite you to hit play to enjoy, The Birth of a King!

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Day 20: Christmas S.a.D. Challenge

During the Christmas season, I absolutely love getting creative. It gives me so much joy to pull together small packages to mail to our children and our LA. With each snail mail sent out, I scribble a note to tuck inside. Now that we have a granddaughter, I make a special effort to use whimsical fun stationery. The Internet has plenty of free resources but last week I designed my own using free brushes to make a snowy background and cute little reindeer image to make this stationery sheet.

Feel free to download a copy of my stationery creation for your personal use!

These are the tidbits I sent in her second package with a letter using my cute stationery design.

Do you like contemporary Christian(CC) music? What Christmas albums by your favorite CC artists do you recommend?  I hope you’ll continue to join me each day as I continue to share with you from just about any genre a song to bring the magic and wonder of the holiday to you.

That’s a wrap for now. Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  8. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Pawww-some 4M Monday and S. a. D. Day #20, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice weekend.

Awww! That’s the cutest illustration ever. I wanna smooch that little mouse who awakes Christmas morning to the sound of a birdie chirping and checks the stocking hung at the foot of the bed, soon to discover those presents from Santa.

Turning to the mewsic, yessum, Nashville is a genuine mewsic mecca, and right from the start I am blown away by “O Come O Come” performed by new to me artist Tommee Profitt and that chorus of kids. It’s very easy to imagine that elegantly produced song being used in a motion picture soundtrack. It practically begs for such an application. I like how the children are bundled up and wearing street clothes instead of dressed formally in choir gowns, making it appear as if they’ve been out caroling in the cold. Advancing through this set of songs, I can tell that every one of them benefits from Tommee’s dynamic production. The whole album could be used as a Christmas movie soundtrack, I’m thinking in terms of a high budget Disney animation adventure. I love the male vocalist and lush orchestration on “Noel.” Sarah Reeves’ soft voice gets to me as she sings “O Come All Ye Faithful.” Ditto for Tauren Wells on her beautiful interpretation of “O Holy Night.” It’s a pleasant surprise to find a cut by pop star Avril Lavigne who has released many edgy, earthy secular songs. Avril is convincing as she sings a rendition of “What Child Is This.” The parade of superb female vocalists continues with Nashville artist Lauren Strahm who uses the stage name Fleurie. I loved her awesome performance of “Silent Night.” That video in particular really gets to me, and I’m sure it has the same effect on you. It’s something special. The very unusual arrangement of “Angels We Have Heard on High” featuring Nicole Serrano is simply grand. I love it. Brooke is another great female artist who turns in a tremendous vocal performance doing “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear.” Rachael Lampa is yet another fine female vocalist as she sings “O Little Town Of Bethlehem.” Jordan Smith and the orchestra make one’s heart soar with their performance of “Mary Did You Know.” Kari Jobe is another female artist whose voice drills deep into my soul. I know that you know what I’m talking about. Her version of “Hark” is the most exquisite I’ve ever heard. This amazing set is capped off by another song that features the sweet, clear voice of Fleurie.

To sum it up, this isn’t just a Christmas album. It is a Christmas masterpiece. It is easily the finest set of holiday songs ever assembled. Having been raised in the church and exposed to songs like these from a very early age, I strongly prefer listening to traditional religious carols during the holidays rather than romantic or silly secular songs, and this set assembled by Tommee Proffitt featuring gloriously updated interpretations of the classics and showcasing the talents of all these outstanding female vocalists, is the greatest I’ve ever heard.

Little Angelina is very lucky to have such a gifted and caring grandmother. I’m sure she will be delighted and her heart touched by your creative, artistic stationery and your handwritten message.

Thank you, dear friend Cathy, and have a wonderful day and week!
