Thursday Art Date Christmas edition prompt T’was the night before Christmas

Today’s theme is T’was the night before Christmas.  I knew immediately what I wanted to sketch but I was afraid I wouldn’t find  time. Thankfully, I managed to squeeze in a few minutes on Monday to bring together, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse Procreate illustration.

I hope you enjoyed listening to Perry Como recite the classic poem.  Thanks for stopping in with your morning coffee for a peek at my latest illustration and …oh yeah, thanks for not spilling it on my artwork. 😉 I’m heading over to Rain’s Garden with the intention to browse the gallery of artistry but at the very least I will join her linky party and try to do what I can as the day allows. Hey, I have to get ready for Santa Claus’ arrival tonight!

I won’t be around tomorrow but CAAC never closes its door and if you’re hanging out in Blogosphere then check out my Friday Fun Stuff edition filled with giggles and mewsic!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. Your adorable mouse in a teacup dreaming of cheese, was the perfect drawing on this Christmas eve. Perry Como did a MUCH better job of Night Before Christmas than I did. I took some liberties with mine. You shared a real classic.

I am sorry I’m late visiting. To be honest, on Thursday evening, “things” finally got to me. I simply shut down. I was not ready to celebrate or even visit my dear blogging friends. It was just too painful and I felt SO isolated and totally alone. I hope you understand why I haven’t been by sooner to visit. Belated Merry Christmas, dear Cathy.

    1. Elizabeth,

No need to apologize. I’m sorry you had no one to share Christmas, my friend. Although, I’m not alone there are times when I feel the pain of missing those I love who are no longer here or circumstances keeping us apart, so I understand and there is no need to apologize. I appreciate your visit and I’m happy you like my little mouse. I will head over to your place to see what you shared with the art date community. Have a blessed day!

  2. Your little girl mouse looks so comfy and ethereal, as you say … what a perfect, peaceful picture for a special night. It takes us all away from the realities that surround us. Beautifully done, Cathy … and who doesn’t love listening to Perry Como 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and your family.

    1. Andrea,

The thing I like about the holidays is it transports not only ones’ spirit to a better place but it allows your mind to fill with warm memories from the past. I know everyone isn’t religious or even shares in my Christian faith but for me Christmas isn’t a one day, I carry it with me every day throughout the year. 🙂 Art is a great escape from everything around me and I’ve been able to incorporate Rain’s prompts this month into the joy of the season. I appreciate you taking time from your Christmas to spend it with me. I hope your day was exceptionally delightful.

  3. A really lovely post and you have to know I love Perry Como. I was so in love with him when I was a kid. How can any one NOT love his voice. Cathy I am so glad we are blogging pals. I enjoy your posts so very much. Wishing you and your family the very best Christmas. Hugs N.

    1. Nicole,

Perry Como’s voice was wonderful. I’m so happy that part of him still lives on for generations to enjoy. You’re a darlin’ friend, so sweet and kind. I’m very thankful to count you as a good blogging buddy. Happy holidays to you and yours, dearie!

  4. Merry Christmas my lil’ southern sista! I love your theme and Perry Como to say the least. He’s a really good story teller isn’t he? Thank you so much for posting this. I remember this when I was little because my mom loved Perry to say the least. Merry Christmas my lovely, but for now I have to go do some last minute shopping. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and I want to find out if there is going to be a midnite mass tonight if not when. So, may I say I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and I hope Santa is very good to you all! ho ho ho HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    1. Marie,

Perry Como was a big part of my childhood. I loved watching his Christmas TV specials. The other night DH and I streamed an old Como Christmas special and it was funtastic to see that vintage show again. I hope you had a lovely Christmas dearie!

  5. I love your sketch. Adorable and dreaming of cheese. So cute.
