Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays! I’m on a semi-blog break now it’s unofficially summer. I’m undecided whether to keep the linky party up with Internet traffic being slower than usual but as it is participation on the dance floor has drastically slacked off over the years so I expect things to change little where this is concerned. What are your thoughts on the matter – linky or no linky or you don’t care?
This week’s theme is It’s your graduation, what year is it? I will keep things simple with sharing a single song or an existing YT playlist each week.
Going over the songs that charted before June of 1980 the first one that jumped out at me ran six weeks consecutively at #1, “Call Me” by Blondie.
Wiki’s Billboard Year-End Hot 100 Singles of 1980, do you have a favorite?
Now, it’s your turn!

Sorry that I was AWOL Monday. The year for me…1965 and the hits just keep coming. The Stones-“Satisfaction”, The Righteous Brothers-“Unchained Melody”, The Temptations-“My Girl”, The Beach Boys-“Help Me Rhonda”. It was a magical era for pop music.
A great song for a great graduate. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
We all loved Blondie – someone’s done a techno Call Me – Timmy Trumpet maybe? So I’ve been listening to it again, sort of…..
That is a fun theme. I may join in on this one. XO
I like to link because I find other people that way. I always go through your blog:)). Which graduation…high school or university/college?
I assumed most people would think of their high school graduation but it doesn’t matter to me. Do what you want, darlin’!
I do like Blondie. I graduated in 1967. There were so many great songs but my fave was Aretha Franklyn’s Respect.
Good choice.
I hope you have a lovely summer, Cathy! Personally, I find link parties too time consuming at this stage and only participate occasionally. You should do whatever you feel is best.
Brilliant song

Oh I love Blondie!
