I’m trying out a new theme layout. What do you think? The previous one was okay but I really liked the one I had for years prior to vacation that suddenly gave me problems. Be prepared to see new changes over the next little bit while I repair posts and resize images until I find a layout I like.
I appreciate you taking the time to drop by to see how last week’s BOTB turned out. I used two different Bob Marley songs for you to choose between Give Thanks & Praises and Thank-You Lord.
Reggae isn’t my favorite genre but it seemed fitting for the occasion with its light, cheery sound that translates to a thankful heart to my ear. Although, Marley’s religious beliefs aren’t in-line with mine as I learned after the fact, the sentiments of his songs are representative of my thankfulness to the Lord God Almighty for every blessing He has given me. I enjoyed both songs very much. However, I felt more of connection to Thank You Lord and cast my vote for it.
Here’s a summary of who voted for their favorite song track in this battle.
GIVE THANKS & PRAISES – John, Diedre, Nicole
THANK YOU, LORD – Lee, Sandee, Brian, Stephen, Mimi, Ed, Me
And, the majority declares THANK YOU, LORD as the winning Bob Marley song for this Thanksgiving Edition of BOTB. Thanks to each of you for participating by voting and making this a fun process. One more time, let’s listen to the song chosen by the people.
Rounding things up, I wanted to say, I liked Stephen’s reference of Thanksgiving. He said “Thanksgiving — I always refer to it as ‘The Gateway To Christmas’”. Isn’t that a wonderful point of view? I love it!
Before I go, I want to say, THANK YOU, LORD for an older but tenderly treated vehicle gifted to us. The person who gave it to us has a kind heart! Please bless him with good health and fortune. THANK YOU, LORD for the chance to spend the day with my mom and sister tomorrow. Opportunities are limited when there are miles between family members so I’m grateful. THANK YOU, LORD for the gentle weather we’re experiencing. I know this won’t last forever, so for now I’ll bask in the warm conditions because I know it’ll turn cold soon enough. I want to say a big THANK YOU, LORD for the victorious win for Donald Trump. My thanksgivings are many but I’ll stop with these few.
I have two Christmas edition battles scheduled for December, so mark your calendar to join me on the 1st. Don’t forget to join me next time for Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays. Have a blessed and beautiful day, my friends!

We like your new bloggie, CK, it’s more clear, so we can read it better. Great choice😺Also fantastic choice of the mewsic. Granny was a Rastafan for years, before she discovered New Wave, but still she loves to hear Bob Marley. He was one of her favourites. We also loved your Thankfuls, and your new Purresident. He deserved to win anyway, in our opinion, and you know what, we believe that he will make a change. It felt like a new life was coming when we heard the news. So Thank You for letting us know that we’re not the only one who’s happy with this news🙏🙏Double Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend dear furriend🐾😽💞
I’m still in awe of Trump’s huge victory. That couldn’t have happened without all the prayers and massive help of his supporters. God is so good. May He always bless America and freedom loving countries around the world!!
I like the blog layout. I have much to be thankful for and one is that you are in my life.
Thank you, darlin’ Nicole!😘
I like this blog layout better. It’s simple and organized. Have a wonderful weekend, Cathy! 💗
I appreciate you telling me, Eugi! 😘
Oops! CAThy, I forgot to say that I like this blog layout better than the previous one. I am a believer in the “less is more” concept, and this layout seems simpler, less cluttered & easier to navigate. When a blog has all of the whistles & bells, it can get kind of visually noisy.

Thanks for letting me know. I do like this layout better than the previous one. I may keep it for awhile unless something catches my eye.

Ha! I’m pleased you like my description of Thanksgiving.
When I was young, we had so many memorable Thanksgivings. Our family would meet with our cousins and Grandparents, and it was a big deal. The kids would play football or Wiffle ball outside in the street (when at my Grandparents’ house) or at the park (near my cousins’ house) while the food was being prepared. Later, we’d all sit down to a Norman Rockwell-like meal. It was almost like a rite of passage when a youngster graduated from the Kids’ Table to the Adults’ Table.
Even at my age (65), I still begin playing Christmas music (almost exclusively) the first day after Thanksgiving, and I continue playing it up until my brother’s birthday (the poor bloke was born on December 26th!) And every year, I still watch all my favorite Christmas movies & TV shows from when I was a kid. I’m convinced that this is the real Fountain of Youth (along with my daily intake of lecithin, and faith in God & Christ Yeshua).

Your Thanksgiving memories indeed sound like a Norman Rockwell scene. I had some good ones from my childhood, too. I miss those big gatherings. I usually start Christmas music after Thanksgiving, too. I just love the joyful sounds of Christmas music!
I hope you find a blog theme and layout you like.
The song is most beautiful, thank you. I’m so happy for you on getting a car.
I’m sure that I will. We’re tickled with the new to us vehicle blessing. God is so good!
I agree with Sandee, that was a fun battle!
Thanks for joining the fun and following up to see how things went. 🙂
I love what you’ve done with the place! Honestly:-) looks great. Great battle, too.
It’s a beautiful, sunny day out west as gloomy days slink into the sunset with the promise of brighter tomorrows. See you again real soon!
Thanks for letting me know you like the new layout. Thanks for dropping by to check out my battle results!
Amen about the Trump victory. Hopefully we’ll have some good years ahead unlike the big waste of the previous four. Not so much a waste for me, but a big setback for our country and our government. But let God’s will be done.
As to your Battle, I’m glad “Thank You Lord” came out ahead. I wasn’t to keen on some of the Rastafarian references of the other song, but it was still pretty good.
We all have so much to be thankful for whether we know it or not.
Lee
I think that’s why Trump did overwhelming good electoral and popular votes because the people of this country want him to fix the problems done by the Biden administration which I have no doubt he’ll do with God’s help. There sure were a lot of folks praying for Trump to win the presidency and our prayers were answered. Thanks for stopping by, Lee!
Hi Cathy, I think this wider layout looks better. Always fun to play with blog designs! 🙂 BTW, I also voted and chose the second song. And thanks for the posting the results. I completely forgot to do that! On it now…
I’m thankful for warmer weather as well, but it’s cooling down. Oh well – nice while it lasted! Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
We’re expecting to cool off this week. I think those upper 70s and low 80s temperatures are gone until next spring/summer. It was good while it lasted. Let’s hope winter isn’t too cruel to either of us. Thanks for stopping by, my dear!
A fun battle.
I’m thankful for you.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Love and hugs, Cathy. ♥
Ahh, you’re so sweet, Sandee! I feel the same about you, my friend!!
