I sat on this partially done post for a long time and didn’t know when to use it so this is a good a time as any. It’s Friday and another work week is ending. Who’s ready for some laughs?
Who here today remember Flip Wilson? If you’re old enough then you probably remember the comedian’s variety show from the 70s. It was there I enjoyed Wilson’s The Devil Made Me Do It skit.
I remember as a kid, how every time I did something a little naughty, out came the phrase “The devil made me do it”. I mostly said it out of silliness because if I knowingly did something wrong then I knew it wasn’t the devil that would get me, it was in the closet and out of the women’s room. lol
Anyhow, my favorite devil is wild ole Taz from my childhood favorite Saturday morning cartoons. I betcha remember Taz, right? Are you a fan, if so then you might find it interesting to learn a bit about his career history and you’re sure to enjoy this nostalgic clip.
I was all set to play along with Friendly Fill-ins today but learned yesterday that Ellen’s (15andMeowing) beloved Prancie died on Wednesday who was with her human parents for 15-years. That’s along time in kitty years! Ellen is taking a hiatus to grieve the loss of yet another sweet furbaby. She’s lost a few in the past year. You’re in my prayers, dear friend. Prancie is chasing butterflies in heaven like a kitten once again!
Ellen’s partner in crime, Four-Legged Furballs (Lorraine) I discovered had the fill-ins, so I’m going to participate. I think Prancie would like knowing that others are getting to know each other a little better with the four blank statements that her human mom and friend shared.
Click HERE to join the Friendly Fill-ins party!
That’s it for now. Please join me for Songsational Sundays if you’re around Blogosphere. Have a funtastic Friday, dear friends! X💋X💋, Cathy

How we loved Flip Wilson and the Looney Tunes!
Excellent answers, and one thing i have learned at this age is never pass up the opportunity to take a nap or use the restroom.
Mimi,
I have to pass on the naps unless I’m sick or else it messes me up at night. The bathroom is a different story, though.
Flip Wilson was hilarious, and you have to give him credit for abandoning comedy to raise his kids.
Taz was just too funny. Like Yosemite Sam without the boots or six-shooters.
John,
Oh, that’s an interesting tidbit about Flip. I had no idea but yes, you gotta admire someone who leaves the showbiz life to take care of his/her family. Good for Flip!
I remember Flip Wilson and the Taz! I thought both were funny and entertaining at the time. That’s a lovely tribute to sweet angel Prancie, Cathy!
Eugenia,
Those days of lost innocence. Wouldn’t it be lovely to steal away to those days one last time for just a minute?
Yes!
Eugenia,
You, too? LOL
Oh, yeah, Flip Wilson and “the devil made me do it”, and Laugh-In (“Very interesting… but stupid!”) — stuffs I remember well from that psychedelic era.
In fact, I still own a bunch of patches I used to have that were sewn onto my jeans jacket from when I was in about 6th grade, and one of those patches is “The Devil Made Me Do It!” An actual original from about 1969.

Stephen,
The Laugh-In show was a whole lot of goofy fun. For the longest time I thought Goldie Hawn was just as daff as her character on the program. It was many years later when she did more serious roles that I realized that she’s very bright and a fabulous actress. 🙂
Oh the Dad remembers Flip too and was always a big Tas fan! We’re all sad about dear Prancie, at least Ellen got to publish that wonderful childrens book about her, Prancie’s Prayer will always be very special.
Thank you for writing about my Prancie, I love the image you made too. And thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I can understand your worrying about your kids. That is sweet that DH knows you so well. Have a wonderful weekend. XO
Flip Wilson was fabulously funny! And thanks for the Looney tunes cartoons!
I remember both Flip Wilson and the Tasmanian Devil! 😀 Thanks for the memories, Cathy. I’m with you on 1,2 and 3 of your fill-in answers. Hubby knows me so well, he always finds stuff I misplace, knowing better how my mind works than I do! 🙂 Have a good weekend.
I loved Flip and Geraldine. It was a much more innocent time. I miss innocent times.
I love Flip Wilson. Fun, fun and more fun. He was amazing.
I love all your answer to the fill-ins. I see we are the same on our husbands. Not surprised.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Love and hugs. ♥
Oh my, you just brought back lots of memories of Looney Tunes. I haven’t watched it in ages, but I used to as a child. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I really like how you answered #1. I’m going to keep that thought in mind and always try to remember to live in a way that will leave me with no regrets when I get older. Have a wonderful weekend!
I vaguely recall Flip Wilson. I was a small child in the ’70s, so my memories of that era are fleeting.
Oh yes, I do remember Flip Wilson. What you see is what you get.
I enjoyed the Blast From The Past! 😂🤣👍
Hi, Cathy!
I’m here for your Sillies, dear friend! I was a regular viewer of The Flip Wilson Show and well remember his comedy sketch “The Devil made me do it.” It was fun listening to one version of it again. I was wondering why I don’t remember Taz, the Tasmanian Devil character in Looney Tunes. I did some reading and learned that Taz only appeared five times before 1964 but gained new popularity in the 1990s. That explains why I don’t remember him.
My sympathy goes out to Ellen as she mourns the loss of her fur baby Prancie.
I enjoyed reading your fill-ins. I certainly believe it’s true that a life partner can know you better than you know yourself and anticipate your needs. I also understand how your concern for your children’s well-being continues and even grows after they leave the nest. Mrs. Shady is constantly worrying about her son in faraway Indonesia, for example.
Thanks for the Friday Sillies, dear friend Cathy, and have a safe and happy weekend!
