Hello, my lovely Kittens & Dawgs! I hope y’all had a fatastic Thanksgiving! For many, this is a long weekend and hopefully, you’re not too beat from all the shopping today to enjoy a few laughs with a little Thanksgiving Day humor.
Speaking of breasts…
Today, I’m sharing my photo contribution with the SWF team of photo enthusiasts. Last Friday while semi-celebrating with DH after he accepted a job offer and we decided to look at some homes for future possibilities at which this new position turns into a permanent work status. Maybe next year this time we’ll be our dream home! I snapped this picture (iPhone5s) behind the DQ in Farragut (near west Knoxville). It’s an old home that’s been converted to either apartments or office space. I’m not sure but I just loved the last bit of fall color clinging to the tree against a rich blue sky!
I’ve got one more Skywatch photo for you. The day after the Supermoon, we were running errands. I needed to get some supplies for a special project I have in mind to do for some special people. Anywho, I caught the Supermoon low on the horizon with my iPhone5s. What I really need is the iPhone7s with two built-in digital lens. It would have no problem turning this photo into something amazing even in my hands. lol
Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every Thursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.
Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:
- Yesterday, we spent a lovely morning enjoying freshly baked cranberry pumpkin bread with soft cream cheese while watching portions of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, then the rest of the afternoon we relaxed in front of TV watching football before having our feast later in the evening.
- Whenever I receive something that I can’t find a use for (this isn’t very often) I like to regift that item to someone who I think is a better suit for it.
- My favourite holiday leftover is everything! I like to serve our Thanksgiving dinner all weekend long or longer depending on how well I can stretch the meal.
- The best part of a long, holiday weekend is typically just being able to relax and unwind with DH but with him out of work (thankfully he has a new job which starts sometime soon) then things are different. However, it’s still nice to have the time to spend with DH regardless.

That is a beautiful house and scene, Cathy. 🙂
That is a nice moon shot. I have had absolutely no luck getting a good shot of the moon with my iPhone 4s. I had to get out my Canon to get them. It was sure a beautiful night, wasn’t it? 🙂
It is always great to be able to spend time with our husbands. I am so glad that yours has the new job now and hope all goes well with that. 🙂
Those are great things to celebrate!
Have a blessed week.
Suzanne, it was a beautiful night that I captured the SuperMoon. It was really chilly reminding of the cold weather to come but it made our errand more festive since it had to do with Christmas. 🙂 Oh, it was nice to spend Thanksgiving with DH and soon (Dec. 12th) he’ll start his new job. God is certainly good to us! We would appreciate the continued prayers that his part-time employment moves to full-time status.
I will most definitely continue to pray about this, Cathy. I look forward to hearing the great news that he has achieved full-time status. 🙂
It is supposed to be chilly here tonight, down in the 40s, and on the night of Dec. 8th, it is supposed to be in the 20s. 🙂
Have a blessed week!
Suzanne has created a great Turkey casserole. It is good way to take care of leftovers.
David, I’ve often thought about making turkey noodle soup or a casserole with the leftovers but DH loves it as is so I don’t do anything creative with it. I take that back years ago, I did make turkey noodle soup once. It was ok but I preferred just eating it plain, too. I’m sure Suzanne’s casserole was yummy, though.
Cranberry pumpkin bread sounds amazing! Guess I”m going to have to hit the recipe books and find this one.
Tonja, You can find my Cranberry Pumpkin Bread recipe, here. I made a few modifications to it since I originally published it and I hope to share the changes in the future but the recipe as it is isn’t bad. It’s really good served with cream cheese, too.
Oh that pumpkin cranberry bread sounds delicious!! I can’t wait until Christmas dinner now!! And yes, I am a breast girl – when it comes to turkey! hee
Lovely shot of the Autumn tree — but I really like the house too. The architecture is lovely.
Les, thanks for popping in for a visit. Who doesn’t like breasts…turkey breasts that is! lol If you’re interested in the Cranberry Pumpkin Bread recipe then you can find it here. Have a good week!
Thanks for the laughs! You share great cartoons. Your bread sounds so good! I wish I were there! HUGS.
Thanks for visiting, Annie! The bread was very tasty! :p
Leftovers are the best part of Thanksgiving dinner. Wonderful news about the job. Being unemployed is kinda scary.
Patricia, We are thrilled over DH’s new job and can’t wait for him to begin. Speaking of leftovers, we’re having more tonight. Yum!
Cute pilgrim kitty. And congrats on DH getting the job. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I serve leftovers all weekend too 🙂 Have a nice weekend!
Ellen, the pilgrim kitty was just too cute to not share! 🙂
Loved seeing all the cute and funny Thanksgiving comics and pictures. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and blessed.
I’m glad you enjoyed the laughs and thank you for popping by today, Cindy!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Black Friday to you, dear friend! I enjoyed your Sillies, your Fill-ins and the lovely picture showing the last of the colorful fall leaves of the season set against a brilliant blue sky. It’s a wonderful photo! Mrs. Shady and I went outside that night and gazed at the supermoon. Fortunately there were only a few wispy clouds in our nighttime sky and we were able to see the lunar spectacle in all its glory.
My favorite cartoon, the one that made me chuckle out loud, was the male pilgrim’s eyes popping when the lady pilgrim whispered naughty sexy talk in his ear at the T-giving feast. Mrs. Shady and I had our holiday meal at her daughter’s house across the state. It was a wonderful dinner that included turkey and ham plus three types of cranberry sides dishes – a cranberry relish, a cranberry sauce made from scratch with bits of fruit, and the regular smooth cranberry sauce from the can.
It makes me happy to know that you and DH had some real celebrating to do this Thanksgiving now that his job prospects are on the upswing. Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Cathy!
Tom, the sky is a complete contrast today compared to last week. It’s a typical gray November day. I prefer sunny blue skies but that’s ok. Not even the gray outside is going to make me feel gloomy. I’m just happy! The cartoon you like best made me smile really big and knew I had to share it with everyone. lol Mmm, your T-Day meal sounds delicious! We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry compote (like relish), biscuits, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, cranberry pumpkin bread, and of course the old fashion stack cake you already know about. Everything homemade from scratch, too. We’ll be eating the leftovers all weekend but that’s something we love to do! I’m blessed to have such nice and engaging friends like you in Blogosphere. Thank you for popping over and I hope you have a good weekend, dear friend!
