Howdy, y’all!  This week has been a bit crammed with a dental appointment, getting things ready to mail off to the kids, making ahead our Easter dinner, and working on my A2Z entries.  Today, I thought I’d do a long post hopefully to roll together all tidbits I normally do routinely into one post.

First let’s start with from this side of the pond‘s (Joyce) Wednesday Hodgepodge.

1. The Hodgepodge lands on the last day of March…in ten words or lest bid the month adieu.  So long, you won’t be missed!

2. March 31st is National Tater Day…your favorite way to have a potato? Given a choice would you opt for sweet, white, or red? How often are potatoes on your menu in one form or another? Ever been to Idaho? If not, is that a state you’d like to visit someday?  We don’t eat a lot of potatoes but we do like them.  My overall favorite way is simply mashed potatoes with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper. Yum!  Next favorite way has to be Potato Salad which we’ll have for Easter.

3. Last time someone or something ‘rained on your parade’? Explain.  A close family member had to insert political opinions in a FB post that was meant to strengthen Americans, not divide.

4. Put all your eggs in one basket, get cracking, nest egg, bad egg, good egg, egg on, have egg on your face, or walk on eggshells…choose a phrase from the list that applies to something in your life currently and tell us how or why.  This week it’s been get cracking mostly to get a gang of things done.

5. If I visited your home would I find a lot of baskets there? Something you like to keep in a basket? Nope.  I think there are only two that come to mind.  One hold pine cones and the other trash bag twist ties.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  For my randomness I will insert my Rain’s art prompt for this week, doorways.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to draw anything new but instead pulled a few images from my archives.  I definitely want to give this a stab but it may have to be another time.

Old Edwards Inn in Highlands North Carolina

The Old Edwards Inn is beautiful! If you look closely you’ll see my reflection in the lower middle glass pane of the door. When I was setting up A Poet I Am Not page, I used this image to go with the poem ‘Entrance’ I penned before I was keeping better track of when I did stuff. Way back in 2013, we were in Kentucky visiting the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. They have a have his parents’ cabin that he was born inside a museum. That building has a gorgeous doorway. Early on for Rain’s art dates, I did a Procreate design that I used my Brushstroke app on of a hydrangea lined sidewalk leading up to the front entrance of a home. I’m sure I have other examples but I truly want to draw a beautiful doorway soon.

This week’s Thankful Thursday on Sunday, I include everything going well with my dental work on Monday. The doctor removed the old bridge and all filling underneath, only one tooth had amalgam and it wasn’t a lot.  I’m thankful I got the children’s and LA’s Easter candies mailed out in time. Monday, I’ll be sharing more on these things.  I’m doubly thankful I got my mother’s birthday present ordered and her birthday card mailed out for delivered on the 1st.   I’m thankful for all of my loyal blog buds for stopping in repeatedly this week and my ability to keep up so far. I’m especially thankful for the Easter – Christ’s death, victory over the grave, and the gift of eternal life He’s given to me.

Ellen at 15andMeowing and Lorraine at Four-Legged Furballs share each Thursday four blank statements for us to copy and paste to create an entry for their Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Here’s how I filled in the blanks.

1. Everything about Covid is such an inconvenience.  But, you already know this, right?

2. My favorite part of the Easter ( or Passover) meal is that Jesus lives!

3. I would like to find an Easter egg filled with a winning lottery ticket for a multi-million powerball play.

4. For me, a combination of kindess and respect is a deal-breaker.

I’m winding things up today with Katโ€™s Writing Workshop borrowing from her prompts to write about something I worked on this week.  I did a lot of tasks this week but I’m going to show you my Easter card designs that I created using the Procreate app on my iPad.

I personalized this one for each of our kids

I’ll be back tomorrow morning with a double entry.  Come boogie with me on the dance floor then stick around to check out my latest Looney Tunes A-Z Art Sketch.    I’m going to end things with a song for Throwback Thursday hosted by Mary at JingleJangleJungle that John from The Sound of One Hand Typing introduced to me this week.  The song came out before I existed but I just loved the sound and had to use it, the 1958 one-hit wonder by The Elegents, Little Star. Have a blessed Easter Sunday, dear friends! X๐Ÿ’‹X๐Ÿ’‹, Cathy

Eugenia’s passion is poetry and her weekly gig is perfect for creative writers.
