TADwR week 2: Emotions #Art Theme

A free-style Pencil drawing, no tutorials

Rain’s art theme challenge today is ‘Emotions‘.  Confusion is certainly an emotion and I have often been just as confused as Goofy but I knew precisely which emotion I wanted to illustrate today, L❤️VE.

Young Love
2018 A-Z Challenge ‘T’ prompt, Turtle Couple in love

Thanks for stopping in with your coffee for a peek at my masterpiece and …oh yeah for not spilling it on my artwork lol .  It’s been a super pleasure to share my sprinkle of talent I have with you this morning. 😘 If you like to see what others are bringing to the art play date, then I invite you to high tail it over to Rain’s Garden to browse through the gallery of artistry!

I want to tell you about two artsy communities.  The first one is put together by Leah with Creative Every Day 🎨 This is a month-long art challenge with an optional prompt encouraging all to link up at his/her pace. I have meant for the longest time to work her ideas into my routine but failed miserably at my attempts. This is changing now! My choice of emotions (LOVE) to sketch this week certainly implies ‘happiness‘, don’t you agree?  I hope she thinks so because that’s Leah’s theme for this month. 🙂

Next up is a new discovery presented by Meg Sorick, Author/Artists, who hosts a bi-weekly art challenge on Sundays, A Year of Drawing Adventurously. This link takes you to her page showing her art theme outline for 2019.  Next sketch date with Meg is this Sunday, May 26th.  I hope to etch this series into my planned post but if it doesn’t work out this week, then I will certainly add it next. 😉

Tomorrow is DH’s off Friday and this isn’t an ordinary weekend, it’s a holiday weekend.  That means more time to spend with my favorite fella.  I will be MIA in Cyberspace until Tuesday but I’ll have tunes to get you movin’ with ‘heaven or hell song titles‘ on Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me on Sunday

X💋X💋, Cathy

    1. Eugenia,

I loved sketching the turtles last year and remain one of my favorites from the 2018 A to Z Challenge. Thanks for visiting, my dear!

    1. Evi, I’m happy to have a new arrival on my blog home! I’m glad you can feel the emotion in my artwork. Thank you for stopping by. 😉

  3. The turtles made me smile. I’d frame that and hang it on my wall. It’s adorable and then some.

Have a fabulous day, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Janet,

I figured my long-running blog buds like you would remember the turtle couple from last year’s A2Z venture. I couldn’t help to feature them again because they are not only stinking cute but so much in 💕💖❣❣

  4. Hi Cathy :))
I LOVE your Goofy!!! 🙂 I think I’m feeling just like him this morning lol…scratching my head often! 😉 Your love theme is wonderful 🙂 The young love…I feel that way with Alex still, it’s a marvelous feeling and you captured it well! And of course, I LOVE your turtles!!! 🙂 I love how little Miss Turtle is blushing…she’s so in love with her Turtle Man! Great art today!!! Thanks so much for joining in! 🙂 I hope you have a nice long weekend full of love and happiness! 🙂
Oh and thank you for posting the two links to the other challenges, I’m going to check them out! 🙂

    1. Rain,

Your cartoon sketches motivated me to pick one this week which naturally lead to me the choice that I came up with in the end. I’m delighted that you like my Goofy rendition. It was a fun drawing. I may go back to add color later. Thanks for sharing in my artwork today and for hosting this fabulous art meme!

  5. I love the couple in love and feel you drew my hubby and me as I feel young at heart. I also just love the turtles…so cute and sweet and the rose is well coloured. Have a fab long weekend and looking forward to the themes coming up.

    1. Birgit,

We’re very much young at heart and still very much in love even with our 40th anniversary approaching. I’m happy that you can see yourself & hubby in my drawing, too. That’s wonderful! Have a good weekend, my friend.

  6. Hi, Cathy!

I am pleased to drop by this morning, sip my coffee, (and try not to spill it on your artwork), and get a heaping helping of love and happiness. It’s what the world needs now. “Young Love” is a sweet illustration and captures that emotion nicely. I’m sure it brings back memories of your and your new sweetie DH shortly after you met, maybe even your first kiss. The cute little turtle couple in love stole my heart. I love their colors and facial expressions. Looks like they’re getting ready to smooch, too.

I am thrilled to find this cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” recorded by American Idol finalist Haley Reinhart. I did some reading and discovered that her version went viral used as the music bed of the story video created for the Extra chewing gum ad campaign. I never saw it before this morning, It’s a beautiful little vignette!

Thank you very much for showing off more of your artistic talent and for posting this emotion stirring song. Have a happy Thursday, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

I remember the first time DH kissed me. It was our first day. He walked me to the door being the gentleman that he is and just before he left gave me a quick kiss. It was awkwardly weird and I was certain he didn’t like me. That was jittery nervous. The memory of that first kiss is priceless alway causing a smile to creep across my face & heart. I love the Extra chewing gum commercial! I don’t recall having seen it before now, so thanks for sharing it with me. I’ll be away from Blogosphere until Tuesday with this being a long holiday weekend. Until then, have a good day, my friend!
