Are you STILL writing that query letter? Then think again before you get another canned rejection.
My good friend and fellow author, Amanda Nicole Trisdale, shared an interesting post by Scott Eagan, Query Writing Trouble? It Might Be the Story, NOT the Query.
I’ll be the first to admit writing a query is tricky business. How on earth can you take your story of thousands of words and shrink into a paragraph to grab an agents or publishers attention? It’s difficult. Scott raised some legitimate concerns, which are worth investigating. What if the problem isn’t your query, but your story? Whoa!
Do yourself a huge favor and hold those creative sentences for a few seconds and read Scott’s blog post.

@The Desert Rocks…I don’t know about the story you’ve written a query about, but your post from yesterday sure was entertaining. Keep up the hard work, you’ll get there. =D
Maybe my story? Ouch! Could very well be true.
@Amanda…got the triangle graphic doing a Google image search ‘query letter advice’ and this popped up.
@Debbie…get out of here, really? Wow, mega thanks! I’ll be right over to pick up my award. Thanks a bunch!
Just wanted to let you know I left an award for you on my blog. Congrats and enjoy!
