Earlier this month, I was reminded of an American Indie rock band I first came across in six years ago and I thought it would nice to invite them back on CAAC. Let’s give it for Broken Bells with their After the Disco album playlist!
I’m gonna leave you with one final Broken Bells song, released in 2020, Good Luck. That’s it for another Saturday. I’ll be back tomorrow with Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sunday boogieing to pumpkin spice theme song picks and I’m saving a dance for you, so come join me on the dance floor. Have a songsational Saturday! x💋x💋, Cathy

You do have a great ear and introduce great works i wouldn’t hear otherwise, thank you!
Mimi,
That’s the way I feel about much of the music I sample from fellow music enthusiasts in Blogosphere. This is a great way to broaden one’s music education. Thanks for joining me on Saturday, dear friend. 😉
I really like these. I will be honest I have not heard of this band. Now will have to listen to them more. Have a great weekend.
Nicole,
I’m happy to introduce you to Broken Bells. Thanks for including me in your weekend, darlin’!
Those were really good, thanks for the introduction!
I’m glad you enjoyed the music featured, Brian. Thank you for visiting, dear furriend!
Hi, Cathy!
I am in desperate need of some Saturday Songsausion, dear friend. Looks like I’ve come to the right place. 🙂
I enjoyed your Broken Bells After the Disco playlist. I am familiar with Danger Mouse because he produced songs by other artists that I’ve enjoyed in recent years, plus some that he made as part of the Gnarls Barkley project. Broken Bells has a great sound. Their songs and videos reveal the complexities faced by young adults navigating the dating scene searching for meaningful relationships. I especially enjoyed the title song and video “After The Disco” and another song and video, “Holding On For Life.” The latter, part of a short film produced by the group, features as “the girl” one of my favorite actresses Kate Mara, whom I enjoyed watching in the role of an ambitious young reporter in the TV series House of Cards and in the role of Mary Jo Kopechne in the 2017 historic drama film Chappaquiddick. I also enjoyed the bonus video, “Good Luck.” Broken Bells is right in the pocket with hip songs dealing with relevant topics and videos that are compelling and unpretentious.
Consider me Saturday Songsuaded, dear friend Cathy. I’ll see you tamale for your 4M Monday on Sunday feature. Have a wonderful weekend!
Tom,
I’m glad you enjoyed listening to Broken Bells. I had forgotten Kate Mara was in the “Holding On For Life” music video. She’s a good actress and I loved her part in House of Cards. That’s a great drama series with a lot of evil twists and turns. It makes you wonder how much of that sort of stuff goes on in real life and I have no trouble believing that much of it does.
