RTT: The Evil Tryant is Dead to Necco Candy to Colored Pencils to Christmas Cards

It’s been in the news for what a week now? Moammar Gaddafi is dead! Shall we sing, “Ding Dong, the evil tyrant is dead!” The big question remains to be seen, will the people of Libya truly be free or is only a matter of time before another ruthless thug takes the helm? Naturally, my prayers are for this part of the world to finally know a little peace after four decades of terror.

Last week, I got a Zojirushi 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker from Amazon. I’m still in the test stage with this unit. Yesterday, DH bought me another coffee machine a Krups KM4055 at Bed, Bath, & Beyond to compare against the Zojirushi. Isn’t he such a sweetheart? Today, I will tear open the box to set it up for quick analysis. Keep an eye open for upcoming reviews of both machines soon!

I’ve looked high and low in town for Necco Peanut Butter Kisses to only come up empty-handed. What’s the deal here, folks? An autumn candy tradition…at least for me has vanished! Like anything on the net, I found these tasty little confections at Candy Crate or if you’d prefer you can go through Amazon to buy these yummy treats.  I really want these bad, but do I want them bad enough to pay $19.99 plus $11.99 for shipping/handling? I don’t know…I’ll get back to you on that one.

Fall leaves around the city isn’t much to get excited over. DH predicted muted colors this year despite what the experts foliage forecast.  How come it is, he has more insight on things than those who claim to know what they are talking about?

Did anyone besides myself not know what besos means? Okay, I cheated. I Googled to see what it stood for after seeing it repeatedly on my bloggy friend, Jamerican Spice’s blog. It’s Internet slang for *kisses (Spanish). Now, I’m scratching my head, does this mean Spanish kisses? If so, how is a Spanish kiss different from an American kiss? Yeah, okay…call me naïve and you’d be so right. I don’t about many things floating around, but I’m not too afraid to ask, either. Even if it…embarrasses me. blush

Who likes to color? I’ve always enjoyed coloring for as long as I can remember. When the kiddos came along, I had an excuse to buy those lovely large boxes of crayons. Over the years, my coloring has branched into a different medium – colored pencils.

Two products I like using are Prismacolor pencils and Kimberly watercolor pencils. You can find these on Amazon. I got started making our Christmas cards. I’ve stamped and nearly colored ten cards. Here’s a sample of my artwork:

Isn’t this such a lovely wintry scene? The image comes from The Stampin’ Place, which I bought a few weeks ago. I’ve shopped at The Stampin’ Place for several years now and love it!

Should I be talking about Christmas when Halloween hasn’t even arrived? Well, probably not, but I just can’t seem to help myself! I begin looking forward to the holidays as early as June. I get those gears to turning long before most simply because I just love Christmas, but mostly because I’m a terribly unorganized person. So it’s in my best interest to begin planning months in advance!

At least, I’m leaving you on a happy note, right?  It’s Tuesday and you know what that means, right? It’s time for….

Thanks Stacy for keeping the randomness alive while Keely @ UnMom is taking a blog break! Go ahead, slip into the ranting mood with the rest of us. I know, you’ll feel right at home. You won’t run into any odd ball looks here because anything goes. C’mon on, join the weekly fun with this cool meme and tell Stacy, “Cathy sent ya!”

What’s on your mind this terrific Tuesday?

  1. @Allstarme…thanks for the tip about Michael’s. We have one in town. I’ll try checking with them, if I get a chance.
@Terra H…Oh goody, I wasn’t the only one. lol. Isn’t it amazing how you can pick up something new everyday?

  2. I’ve already started thinking about Christmas too. You did a nice job on the card. I didn’t know that was the Spanish word for kisses either. Learn something new every day.

  3. My Michael’s (arts and crafts store) sells old time-y candy and I know they have Neccos. Don’t know if they had those though. Happy Tuesday!
