In last Tuesday’s Skyfall BOTB Showdown I was a bit surprised how the battle turned out. Norman Nathan featuring Martin Gerloff style isn’t the normal music I play but I’m happy for the listening experience. I nearly squashed them as a candidate for because of what many of y’all did not like that low almost evil vocals in parts of the song but the rest of the vocals and mood of the arrangement was perfect. I also struggled a little with my decision to use the Walkways. I liked their rendition. At first I didn’t know if I liked it enough to put it in this battle but after playing their version for awhile it really grew on me. It’s easy to see why Walkways won this battle (7 to 3).
I sampled a couple of Walkways songs on YouTube. Overall their sound in most of their tracks are heavier. That will appeal to my peeps enjoy that style. As for me, I love the intimate vibe of You Found Me.
I want to say thanks to everyone who voted in this battle. Your participation is what makes these battles fun. I’ll return on December 1st with a holiday edition of BOTB. The JBTS series will continue at the start of 2023. Don’t forget, tomorrow I’m sharing another installment of my photo memories from our September Maine vacation. This is CAAC signing off, have a bandtastic day! X💋X💋, Cathy

CAThy ~
That was a pert-good Battle. Close enough to keep it interesting and the outcome in question until the end.
I hope you & yourn have a wonderful Thanksgiving and we’ll catch up again at the start of The Christmas season (my favorite!)

Stephen,
I had this battle pegged wrong. I thought either it would be much tighter or the Norman Nathan would win but I was totally off. It definitely kept things interesting up to the end. I appreciate you stopping by and for taking part in the voting process, good friend. Happy returns to you for a bounty and blessed Thanksgiving!
I forgot to vote, but would have gone with the metal version. The Walkways have a good sound too, though. I’m a hard rock/metal gal, as you know. 😀
Debbie,
No worries! I discovered while looking for another sample of Walkways music that they are heavier sounding than their Skyfall cover or even in the song featured in this post.
That was a good battle. I may have to watch Skyfall now.
I understand why the outcome was as it is. I know I’m not a fan of some of those dark evil sounding vocals.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

They walked away with your prize, right? Sorry, i cannot resist puns, so i don’t try.
Yay for the Walkaways! Have a wonderful week 😉
It’s good to be surprised by the winner. Makes it more interesting.
Have a fabulous day, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥
Hi, Cathy!
I hope you’re having a great week, dear friend!
Thanks for reporting the final vote tally and declaring a winner in your latest Battle of the Bonds. I realize that I surprised you for loving the harsh vocals in entry #1 but voting for entry #2. Walkways’ conceptual mewsic video was simply too compelling to ignore. On their channel, the Walkways Band has a video on the making of their “Skyfall” video:
Thanks again for letting us know which act won the contest. If you wanted to visit Shady’s Place and see my current post, today’s the last day, because it will be replaced dark and early tamale. Have a happy day, dear friend Cathy!
