Do you look at the calendar and think, “WOW!” That’s me this morning as I realize it’s the 10th day of this brand new month. I’m trying to find my rhythm in settling into blogging after a few months of only doing nothing but my 4M weekly shares. Don’t interpret that as I was slacking off. I wasn’t, I assure you. I took care of a lot of behind the scenes stuff on CAAC.
Obviously, you know of my new pinup girl layout but I took care of a lot of future posts to make my life a little easier because I stepped up my exercise game. Yeah, I don’t do running too well but I do enjoy my elliptical and finally got myself up to a 90-minute routine.
I know, I know that’s not an elliptical but have you ever seen a cat try to use one? I rest my case. *snicker-snicker*
Another thing I did during my semi-blog break is create. I worked on my A2Z ‘in living color’ series which I’ll tell ya right now you can expect to see some of that tomorrow. 😉 I’m eager to get artsier, though. I didn’t do nearly as much of this as I had hoped. That’s okay, I’m picking up my pencil again.
Another form of creating I’m eager to get going is wordplay. Today, I’m sharing a poem I wrote using Eugenia’s word prompt, Sage, from last week. Yes, I’m slow but remember I’m finding my footing again. I wonder how long I can use this excuse and get away with it?
Pictured with me is my son and grandpa from 2011. I think I shared this photo before. DH was behind the camera. This was the last time I saw my grandpa. He was such a sweet man and I miss him tons!
On a lighter note, how’s your week shaping up?
I’m linking up taking a coffee break to enjoy some Random Tuesday Thoughts with Stacy Uncorked, Tuesday Chatter with Eugenia at BewNSpew, and Happy Tuesday with Sandee from Comedy Plus this morning. That’s a wrap for now but you’re invited to join me tomorrow for Wild Wednesdays (formerly not-so Wordless Wednesday).

Lovely poem and family photo, Cathy! And I so admire your dedication to exercising. I keep finding excuses, but at least the dogs keep me moving. Having a backlog of finished posts is a great way to make things easier on yourself. Well done! It’s always difficult to get back into things after taking time off. You shouldn’t pressure yourself, though. Ease into it. 🙂 Looking forward to your always fabulous art displays. Cheers!
Debbie,
Keeping up dogs is an exercise in itself for sure. I remember years ago our youngest daughter had this large dog. I can’t remember what kind he was but he’s was very hyper. I think he was still young and that critter would just about drag her down her apartment steps. I might be able to handle the ankle-biter (that’s what we call those small dogs that bark and nip at you) variety best but I loved to have a mid-size dog if we had the right place to keep on. We can’t have pets in the house because of our allergies, even dogs set us off. sigh They are a huge responsibility and something to not inner into lightly. Thanks for dropping in to read my poem and for your kind words, dear friend!
That’s a beautiful poem, and if the escape key ever works, please let me know!
Mimi,
I will give you the heads up if I learn that it works. 🙂
That’s a very sweet poem Cathy! Very nice, I love it! And I love the photo too. I miss my grandpa too, sigh…he was such a great man! I have great memories of him. Good for you on the elliptical! That’s one machine I’d love to own one of these days!
Rain,
Grandparents are special people, so are parents. Both are often not valued until they are no longer with us I love my elliptical! We bought ours in 2014. DH’s former employer offered x-number of dollars in reimbursement on fitness equipment. The unit we went with was way more than what we’d get back but we wound up getting a great deal. It seems it was on sale and then there was a manufacture rebate bringing our out-of-pocket about $400. You can get some lesser priced one for less than a $1000 but you can feel the difference when you compare them. Ours is made pretty solid. Perhaps one day, you can get one but I’d wait until you move into a place of your own. We had a devil of time getting ours into the house and I’m sure it’ll be just as hard to move someday, hopefully soon. Thanks for visiting.
That’s a great deal you got on the elliptical! If I ever get one, it’ll be many years from now. I want the type you find at the gym! I’ve tried the less expensive ones, but they feel too choppy, you definitely can tell the difference. I’m sure it’s a real beach to move that thing!! 🙂
Rain,
Whenever you’re ready to buy, try them out if you can. I am not looking forward to the day when we have to move ours. 🙂
Getting back into blogging may take some time 😉 Besides, there are plenty of people who just kind of drift away. Better some posting than none at all.
great post for Happy Tuesday! Love your poem with your Grandpa’s photo! Cheers!
Love the poem and really love your son’s shirt. That’s the type my son would wear, too. What a nice three-gen picture, Cathy.
Jacqui,
DH also has a couple of patriotic polos like DS. Those are nice looking. I think I got them for my boys at Kohls one year. Thanks for the sweet comment on my poem. Just trying to unlock my inner wannabe author. 🙂
Loved the funnies, but loved the poem and you holding your grandpas hand. What a treasure. You are most beautiful too and your son is handsome.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs, honey. ♥
Sandee,
Yes, I love that grandpa’s holding my hand. He was always a gentle, loving soul. DS looks a lot like his dad except taller and bigger. lol He inherited super-sized genes from his dad’s grandfather and uncles. Oddly, DH’s dad isn’t big. That kid was a big baby, I tell 9-lbs 7-oz and 21″ long. Whew, talk about fun! lol
That was really a very nice poem!
Thanks, Brian!
Cathy, what a beautiful poem and I love the picture of you, your son and your grandpa. Thank you for sharing a very personal part of your life! Rock on boogieing girl!
Thanks for inspiring me with your weekly word prompts, Eugenia! 🙂
Dearest Cathy,
Good to see you back in the groove. Welcome back Sweety.
Nice lyrical dedication that one.
Big hugs and big love xoxo <3
Have a swell of a week!
It’s good to be getting back into the groove again, Natasha. I’m glad you decided to stop by today. Thanks for your kind words, darlin’! xx
