Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays!
This week’s theme is whatever music moves you! Today’s feature band, Portugal. The Man is an American rock band from Wasillia Alaska now based in Portland Oregon. The group crossed my ears in recent months. I can’t swear how I made their discovery but I got curious to hear more.
Do you know this song?
The only thing I know about this song is it has a vibe that makes me happy, makes me wanna move! Feel It Still is the band’s first intro to US Billboard Hot 100 as a sleeper hit because it took the song eight months to peak at number four in November 2017. The song did hit #1 on the Alternative Songs chart in the US, Mexico, and Russia Tophit airplay. If you’re thinking the melody sounds a little familiar like I did that’s because it was based on the Marvelettes 1961 hit, “Please, Mr. Postman”. The song gives credit to Brian Holland, Motown songwriter.
The next song I found by PTM is What, Me Worry? according to a People magazine article from 2022 mentions lead vocalist, John Gourley found inspiration for the song tied to happy childhood memories of laughing at the world, themselves, and flipping through Mad magazine.
The last song led me to the band’s ninth studio album, Chris Black Changed My Life.
Okay, that’s it. Now, it’s your turn to share whatever music moves you this week! 😉
Brian’s Home, link in side menu, promotes Thankful Thursdays and although, I’m technically on break I think it’s important for me to squeeze a word of appreciation in here to the One who makes all things possible when I can.
Thank you Lord for allowing DD2’s back to continually heal after surgery, for the recent unexpected blessing You provided us, that DH’s last dental follow up was this week with no more immediate returns needed, for keeping Your hand upon family members with a particular request, and generally for the continuation of all things good. I’m very blessed!
Bringing things up at the rear is Friday’s Friendly Fill-ins. You’ll find the hostesses in my side bar.
Incidentally, RamblinwithAm (Alana) is on vacation and away from Blogosphere for the next couple of weeks. Have a boogietastic week!

Excellent painting!!
You have great music here Cathy, the playlist is great. Have a great weekend!
I’m not fond of Walmart, I think Target is a much nicer store.
Interesting playlist, this was all new to me.
Brand new to me but I enjoyed their music. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
I hadn’t heard of that band either, but I like what I heard. That’s a very nice thankful and good fill-in answers too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
This is new music to me. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am not a fan of Target, mainly because of the prices. I can do much better at Walmart. Where are you going on vacation? If you go to Maine again, please let me know so we could meet for lunch. XO
Hi Cathy I loved the playlist all new to me.
It’s great to hear that God has hold of you, your husband and all your family…. Long may it stay that way and dance as far as you along that road in your lovely painting 💜💜💜
