    1. Claudia, HA! I just left your place. Yes, old buildings do have stories to tell…if only they could talk, right? 😀 Thanks for visiting today! 🙂

  1. An excellent year of photography! You certainly saw some beautiful sights. I love that Mill picture. It reminds me of the one near my hometown. My kids would love the snow tubing! 🙂

    1. Les, I love visiting places with old buildings! Old structures like Mingus Mill really captures the imagination. Snow tubing does look fun & if I had the proper warm clothing then I wouldn’t mind trying it. We didn’t have anything like that when I was a kid & the only good place to sled was on the hilly main road coming into our small town which was too dangerous to do with coal trunks, passenger vehicles. and other commercial trunks. Of course some kids did sled from that hill after dark when traffic was nearly dead. I never did, though. My mom would kill me!

  2. Happy New Year, Cathy. 🙂 Such lovely photos! Snow tubing looks like fun, except like you, I can’t handle the cold that well. Looking forward to your future posts.

  3. Hi, dear Cathy!

Your camera captured an abundance of natural beauty this year. My eyes popped when I saw that snow tubing hill. I never tried tubing but, when I was young, I spent countless hours, day and night, gliding down snow covered hillsides in my neighborhood on sleds, toboggans and those metal snow saucers. I never wanted the fun to end! I love the shots you took of lakes, rivers and blossoms. The picture of the fallen tree and stump with fungi sprouting up around them reminds me of the type of picture my shutterbug dad loved to snap. He took hundreds of close-ups of things like fungus, tree bark, leaves, flowers, bugs, lizards, stones – any natural subjects that caught his eye.

Thank you for presenting the year in review as seen through the lens of your camera, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom, I loved playing in the snow when I was kid, too. It amazes me to think back on those days. I wouldn’t go indoors until I was numb from head to toe. The pain in my fingers was misery till they warmed up. These days I complain when it’s cold outside and I’m indoors in snugly sweats. Lol On the evening I took the snow tubing shot it was chilly, but the wind made the temps bone chilling. I shook so hard at times I couldn’t steady my camera. Photography is a fun hobby and I love taking landscape shots. I can’t wait to see what new images I can share this year. Thanks for visiting!

    1. Janie, in the western mountains of North Carolina in Roane Mountain State park the have a huge rhododendron garden. It’s breathtaking to see at peak somewhere between mid and end of June. It’s been ages since we’ve seen the gorgeous display and I always want to go, but something comes up. Oh well maybe this year will be different. Thanks for visiting!
