Music Makes Me Smile!

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays!

This week’s theme is whatever music moves you!  The first video on my playlist inspired the whole set of “smile’ song titles and it so happens the timing is perfect because DH has a brand new smile.  He got all of his crowns seated on Friday.  Click play for a continuous flow of background music for you enjoyment.

Now, it’s your turn, what music is moving you or making you smile?

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.

May’s birthday salute goes to Deidre at Landmark Sounds who turned another year older on the 8th. 👏🥳

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Stevie is celebrating her 75th birthday on this day, so let’s rock the dance floor a little harder with songs from her 1989 Other Side of the Mirror album!

Although, it’s felt like summer for awhile now in east Tennessee and with it being Memorial Day weekend then everyone sees this as the unofficially beginning of summer.  This means blog traffic slows down. It’s vacation time and folks just don’t want to sit in front of their computers.  I can’t blame anyone for that.  I am scaling things back until early September.  The dance floor will remain open but I will handle things differently over the next few months.  I hope you understand and if you choose to swing by then continue to join in with others.  For you curious minded individuals, my cutting back won’t interfere with my June 1st BOTB, so watch for it to pop up on Saturday.

Have a nice Memorial weekend. My gratitude to those who gave their life in service of our country.  May God bless the families for their loved ones’ sacrifice. Have a boogietastic week!

    And the kitty is awwwwdorable.

    Big kisses.

  2. THIS IS A TEST! I am using a different browser with history, cookies, and cache cleared. I see the ‘like” and share buttons just below my post. To submit this comment, I can use WordPress, Facebook, or using an email, name and website (optional) to sign-in. It appears you don’t have to have a WP account to leave a message. I will attempt to use an email address and name only to see what happens and am not turning on the “save my name…” feature.

    1. It sent my comment to “Pending” for my approval but it worked. However, to click the “like” button you do have to have a WordPress account or use one of the sign-in options provided. My suggestion is since this won’t work for some, leave an thumbs up emoji in comments if you can or something simple like that and I’ll see that you dropped by!

  3. Now you made us smile with your smiles, CK…and that kitty of course😸😸Great mewsic too💗Our weather is terrible, but when the sun shines, we’re not behind the computer. Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day and week ahead CK and Happy Birthday to Deirdre🐾😽💞

  4. Great post with great smiles and a double whammy of Stevie Nicks too. I love the fact that DH can smile too. Have a good memorial day and a great summer break! See you on the Dance floor 💜💜💜

  5. Hi, Cathy!

Happy paw-some 4M Monday on Sunday, dear friend! I hope you have been well this past month and that you are having a pleasant and restful holiday weekend. I am very happy knowing that DH’s annoying dental procedures are now behind him and that he can go back to enjoying life without them looming before him.

Awww. I just wanna smooch that little kitty! It makes me miss my cat Boots and recall that it was a year ago, on the 17th of May, that we needed to have him put to sleep. More sad news to report on my side of the screen since we last connected.
My sister-in-law, my brother’s wife, died earlier this month in Florida. On a cheery note, happy birthday to your friend Diedre, and please join me in wishing a happy birthday to Mrs. Shady and to our granddaughter who both celebrated their b-days in May. Happy birthday also to the ageless, timeless Stevie Nicks!

I am familiar with the British swing band the Jive Aces. I have posted some of their songs over the past few years, and I believe I did so to observe the birth and death anniversaries of Margaret Schneider – The Oldest Living Dell Rat. Coincidentally, today, May 26, is the 7th anniversary of dear Margaret’s passing. It’s been decades since I heard the hit smile songs by James Taylor, Barry Manilow and Louis Armstrong. It was fun listening to them today. I review Chicago’s early recordings fairly often and never grow tired of their sound. “Make Me Smile” is a great song. Same thing with regards to Hall & Oates. I listen to their hits regularly and love their style. Kirk Franklin’s song would be a good one to play for DH now that he has good reason to smile. I also really enjoyed Sia’s song and video.

I am returning tomorrow, Monday, Memorial Day, with a new post and will remain on blogging duty three days. I hope you and I can connect again during that time span. Once again, have a safe and restful holiday, dear friend Cathy!

  6. Several smile songs on your list were old favorites that have always made me smile. Happy your dh was able to FINALLY get his dental work completed. Alana ramblinwitham

  7. Glad to see the sharing of music 🎶 I made a Playlist for you a wide range of music. Thought you might enjoy.

  8. Love both videos. Love the cute kitten too. So precious and a huge Awww.

    ♫♪Happy Birthday to Deidre & Stevie.♪♫

Zane is at the three week mark post surgery and is doing so very well. We’re both happy with the surgery.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Loved listening to the music…both sets. The very first video was sweet and he did a pretty good job in impersonating the big stars. Happy Birthday to Deirdre. I hope you have a wonderful day and may your Memorial day be, not only fun, but one of memories to the people who gave their all so that we can still live in our homes, eat what we want and enjoy life.

  9. Nice tunes! I’m not listening to much at the moment, I should fix that. Enjoy your holiday weekend.
