Good morning, kittens and dawgs! DH and I watch a lot of programs on Netflix or Amazon Prime and I thought wouldn’t it be wonderful to share with you some of the things we took a gamble on with
The Flintstones (1994) is not an animated flick, but a live action film. It was fun to see the spot on actors Fred (John Goodman) and Wilma (Elizabeth Perkins) Flintsone , Barney (Rick Moranis) and Betty (Rosie O’Donnell) Rubble and the rest of the all-star cast bring this adventure to life. In this movie Fred finally gets a chance to climb out of the rock pit to top executive. Is this too good to be true? Advancement comes with a price. How will Fred get out of the mess he finds himself in? If you grew up watching this classic cartoon series, then you’ll enjoy seeing it, too.
Adventures in Babysitting (1987) is a fun action-adventure flick. Babysitting just got dangerous and it’s not the kids (Sara, Brad, & his friend)the babysitter has to worry about. Chris (Elisabeth Shue) takes a last-minute babysitting gig after being stood up by her boyfriend (Bradley Whitford). No sooner did the parents step out of the house Chris gets a distressing call from her girlfriend saying she’s stranded in the city and needed help. That’s when the nightmare begins: blown tire, crazy tow-truck driver, gun shooting, car jacking, kidnapping, gangster chasing adventure of a life time all in one night! This is an outrageously fun movie to see things go from bad to worse in short order before the table turns for the better.
Ted and Bill’s Excellent Adventure (1989). Ted (Keanu Reeves) and Bill (Alex Winter) are totally flunking history. If they fail than the future is imperil. It’s up to Rufus (George Carlin) to travel back in time to give Ted and Bill a little help with the use of a time machine to help bring together their last assignment – a history presentation in an excellent fashion. This is a silly fun film, but I liked it.
It pays to revisit the 80s and 90s from time to time to find movie oversights because I found what once didn’t appeal to me now peaks my interest and these decades were actually great ones for producing some awesome movies. Check out the trailer links above for the flicks!

Oh my gosh, I remember that Babysitting movie!! It was the best. I wonder if any of my kids are old enough to watch that now?? But Bill and Ted’s – YES!! Keanu is always my #1. And I hear that they might be making a third one too.
I remember those films. Another from that time frame would be Risky Business or Top Gun. Dirty Dancing is another classic from the 80s as well.

Mary, DH & I saw both Risky Business and Top Gun years ago in theaters, but not Dirty Dancing. In recent years, we re-watched Top Gun on Netflix and Dirty Dancing is also available, but we have yet to see it. Gotta do that!
I’ve seen all of those films, but it’s been years. I seem to forget most of the films I watch so I can’t think of anything right now.

Lee, I say most people, other than us, saw these movies when they came out. We are usually slow to see the new stuff for one reason or another, but it was definitely a delight to finally watch these retro flix! Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to visit, my friend!
I remember those movies. I didn’t ever see The Flintstones (but I remember the toys). I saw the other two in the theater. I’m pretty sure.
Liz, if you have Netflix, then you might want to add The Flintstones to your Watch List. I really enjoyed it. Have a funtastic weekend and thanks for breaking from your busy day to come see me! 😉
