Morning and Afternoon Sky Views, Different Days and Years + Friendly Fill-ins

Earlier in the week, I shared a gorgeous sunrise looking toward the mountains from my living room window a year ago.  Last week, I snapped this picture.

From my front porch, we can see the Smoky Mountains.  Visibility is pretty good on this day.  You can barely see the snow on the mountains.  This week, we’ve had mild temperatures with mostly cloudy skies like in the above picture. It’s actually felt like spring. What crazy weather!

Monday afternoon coming up the driveway after depositing some trash at the curb for pick up, I noticed the moon.  The sunset colors against the rich evening blue sky with landscape in shadows made a great view, so I quickly grabbed my phone to take this picture.

About a year ago today, we had already had our showers and settling in for night time routine.  The image time stamp indicates it was 8:30. Instead of missing the pretty scene altogether, I went ahead capturing beautiful blue skies with big fluffy clouds from inside the house outside my living room window that hung over us. Despite the pretty picture outside my window, it was actually kind of chilly on this day. I believe there’s snow on the mountains in this shot.  It’s not the best capture, but it’s a lovely memory frozen forever.

I need to catch more moments such as these digitally to bring me joy later another day or 10 years down the line.

Here’s how I responded to this week’s Friendly Fill-ins.

1. My February plans include using the elliptical 4-5 times a week and continuing to tweak site issues, as well declutter my computer. So far I’m on point!

2. I should get rid of all the small measuring scoops that came with collagen supplements because I never use them.  You’ll be happy that I did just that. Maybe, there’s hope for me after all.

3. Silicon trivets for my counter top are is the most useful purchase I’ve made recently. Actually, the trivets are helpful because I didn’t have a place to put hot pans without melting the counter top.

4. I would excel in the “How Little Do You Know” category on trivia night. There’s probably no such category but honestly that’s the way I feel and if I want to know anything, I either check with DH or the Internet.

    1. I’m sure this new layout also needs some tweaking and I’ll get around to it if this is the one I want to keep indefinitely. Only time will tell, right? For now, I’m squeaking by get other issues taken care of while sharing weekly content. Thanks for all your help, darlin’!

  1. Beautiful images. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Good job getting rid of the measuring scoops and using your elliptical. XO

  2. Lovely images, Cathy! 😍 How wonderful to have a mountain view from your house. I bet you know a lot more than you think you do. 😉

    1. We love the view from our house. You’re right, I probably do know more than I think but anymore my brain seems so fuzzy with details and it’s frustrating. I guess there’s too much data floating around in my head and everything gets crunched. Kinda like image resizing apps that compress and downgrades the quality resulting in a blurred image. That’s how my brain feels. lol
