Welcome to another Sunday edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me! Revisiting songs from 1991 for last week made me curious to pull together another set of those rare tunes that never seemed to reach my ears in those crazy early days of motherhood and is perfect for whatever music moves me week!
Over the years some of these songs reached my ears. Thanks to the blogging platform I’m always exposed to old, unfamiliar, or new tunes to keep me movin’
This is a music linky party. Your co-hostess are Stacy, Alana, and Me. Every other week we have a suggested music theme (see weekly prompts here) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts. Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.
Thanks for swinging by the party today. I’m keeping things short. This is CAAC signing off, have a boogietastic week! X💋X💋 Cathy

I decided to join in Cathy! Hope I’m not too late! ☺☺ That Extreme song brings back so many memories…I loved it so much. You also mentioned Bonnie Raitt’s Somethin To Talk About – that is a song I still sing when I’m in the car!! ☺ Must go visit the other mewsic lovers now! ☺☺♥♥
Nice song 🙂
Mine is Up. at least this week I felt like blogging.
Mike,
I’m glad you felt like blogging and wanted to come to the party this week, my friend!
1991 was a great year for music! I may have only been 12 but I was a huge fan of music at the time (ok, still am, but you know my point here.) Thanks for sharing and co-hosting!
What was your point again? lol I have some fond memories from my pre-teen and early teen years associated with music, so yeah I get where you’re coming from. Thanks for boogieing with me, darlin’!
I have beenoffline for a few days…colonoscopy but…I have to do it again because I was not cleaned out..I know…tmi. I listened to all of these and did not know most of them but I knew the 1st one, Bryan Adam’s and Michael Bolton. So many sound the same like Abdul, Huston and the last chick. The bidet of that last one looked similar to Abdul’s but no Keanu.
I hate the heat and we are to get over 30C plus humidity..Yuck!
Birgit,
Oh you poor dear another colonoscopy! Hopefully the colon prep this time around will do its job so you won’t have to repeat the process. I always worry that might happen sometime but so far so good. We’re getting a reprieve with the heat today. It’s overcast with a chance of afternoon showers. We’re forecast to be in the low 80s but then as the week goes on it’s expected to be back in the mid-90s by the weekend. UGH! Stay cool and indoors as much as you can, my dear. You’re in my thoughts and prayers!
Love your playlist, Cathy! Our temps have not been too bad. We’ve hot and humid days but nothing like those places with triple digits. Keep on keepin’ on and have a great week ahead!
Yes indeed, Northwest Arkansas temperatures will soar into triple digits all week. Not looking forward to it. We have a Josh Groban concert to attend and it is outdoors.
The playlist is great but I am always drawn to Bonnie Raitt. The ladies of the 70’s were just awesome. Have a blessed week.
Those triple digits don’t sound like my idea for time to spend outdoors. I hope the evening you attend the Josh Groban concert God send a gentle cool breeze to make it more enjoyable. Bonnie Raitt is an artist I knew of but didn’t pay much attention to until after I got involved with blogging. This is a singer I need to take time to sample more of her work. She’s very talented and has a style I like.
Hello Darling,
Your playlist always blows me away to the days of the yore. All my personal favourite. <3
The bear is is pawsome. Ha! Ha! He spoke my heart.
I’ve been falling in line a bit too much with that last quote of yours. The calories are now showing lol!! 😉
I joined with some Cohen. His music is like a whiff of breeze on a sweltering day.
Have a marvellous day darling.
Biggest hugs.
Natasha,
The heat is unbearable but that’s to be expected by mid-July. The seasons change quickly, so as long as I can stay indoors where it’s cool then I’m okay with it being summer. lol Calories are far easier to pack on then get off. We are trying to cut back on junk food. One thing I’ve noticed over the years is I don’t have near the cravings for sweets as I used to and that’s a good thing. 🙂 Thanks for joining the party!
I was also busy with motherhood that year. Great playlist of songs I sort of know.
Robin,
It nice to hear what I missed the first time around decades later and I’m glad you enjoyed the set, my friend!
The bear is right!
Excellent tunes, and i hope you have a blessed and beautiful week.
Mimi,
Thanks. I send the best to you, as well, dear friend!
HA! I didn’t do any better than the last time, I only would recognize 2 of those tunes if the played on the radio.
Brian,
I feel that way about most of the music that’s came out after I became a mommy. I’m horrible with song titles and am a bit better with recognizing a tune but still there’s a large number of songs that has escaped me over the years. It’s fun to play catch up, though. I love music!
Oddly enough, I liked the Amy Grant song better than the others. By this time I was turning away from Top 40 stuff pretty regularly… good set, though!
John,
I always liked Amy Grant’s early stuff. I haven’t listened to her much since the 90s. I’ve found there’s always good music floating around from a decade I somehow missed. Thanks for dropping by, my friend.
People know her as a contemporary Christian artist, but she did some adult contemporary stuff that was really good. She did a duet with Peter Cetera (“Next Time I Fall In Love”) that was fantastic. I’ve also heard her play guitar, and she’s actually pretty good… Good to hear some artists climb out of the pigeon-hole they get stuck in by the critics.
Amy Grant was introduced to me as a contemporary Christian artist. At first it was hard for me to move past her switch to other genres but she’s a good singer and I really like “Next Time I Fall In Love”. I’ve heard her do others but my mind is blank right now.
Great song pick this week and I so love the bear!
I’m glad you enjoyed the music. Thanks for coming to the party!
I do love the playlist. The bear meme is perfect. Here on the coast it doesn’t get hot. The pacific winds carry the heat away. Stay cool and enjoy that cake. LOL
Nicole,
I’ve heard that about the pacific not getting as hot as it does here in the east. I’m just happy we don’t live any further south. That would be even more miserable! We’ve toyed with the idea of moving to Maine. We’ve watched the weather pattern over the years. For the most part their temperatures aren’t too much cooler than ours but when it does get cold, it’s often a lot colder than us and they do get a lot of snow. Generally, I think it’s windier there, too. Our youngest daughter loves living there, though. I’m really anxious for our vacation. The last time we were in Maine was 2004. The bonus will be seeing our daughter!
1991 was a bit of a lost year for me, too. I knew three of these and two nice finds here – Rod Stewart and Extreme. Also reminded me what a talent Whitney Houston was – a tragedy that we lost her too soon. Alana ramblinwitham
Alana,
Whitney was incredibly talented. I preferred her earlier music more than her later work, though. It’s always a tragedy when someone dies, but somehow sadder when death is the result of addiction. Thanksf or dancing with me, sweetie!
Love your Awww Monday contribution. Adorable and we’re in triple digits here. Awful.
Love your playlist. I’m not participating this week, but I’m all set up for next week.
I ate a piece of cake. Love it.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥
Sandee,
Triple digits! That sounds horrible!! I complain when it gets in the upper 80s, especially when it’s a sunny day and the humidity is high. It’s not very pleasant but triple digits would have me crying. Stay cool, my dear!
