Welcome to Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me on Sundays!

In case you haven’t heard the mews, our Stacy lost her dad earlier in the week and while she was expecting the inevitable, the shock of her loss left her in a cloud of disbelief which all natural.  Darlin’ friend…I’m sorry for the heartache you carry with and it’ll be there for some time but hopefully, you’ll find moments like today to celebrate your dad’s life with those you love through laughter and tears.  Those flashes of joy enable healing and allow you to move forward each new day. Your loss is truly heaven’s gain. Until you can see him again, may God hold you in His arms preserving your love for your daddy through lots of fond memories.   You’re in my prayers and thoughts, dear friend. God bless!

  1. Sending prayers of comfort to Stacy. <3 I lost my dad 12 yrs. ago and it’s still hard… – Loved the music. Thanks for sharing Agnes Obel. Definitely adding her to my playlist.

    1. Thanks for the prayers. I know Stacy appreciates it. Yep, it’s hard no matter how much time passes. My parents are still with me but I lost my brother in 2006 and while it’s now easier I can relate to the pain.

  2. Love your drawing of nature with the bear and deer. It will be so tough for Stacy right now and I do feel for her. Glad you have your dad and that you love him so. Many don’t have fathers that were good so I am happy that, even though my dad has been gone for 31 yrs, I have great memories

    1. Birgit,

It will be hard on Stacy for days to come. I’m fortunate to have both my parents but losing both in-laws I know that pain. It’s not exactly like losing my own but awfully close. They were good, good people. WOW, your dad has been gone quite awhile. I know you miss him. You always will. Thanks for stopping in for visit.

  3. Have had a chance to listen to Agnes Obel now – beautiful – very clear voice. My husband will probably like her music too. The piano sounds just beautiful.

  4. That was a lovely song, CK, that we didn’t know yet and what a lovely picture of you and your Dad. Hope you had a wonderful Father’s Day. So sorry of the loss of Stacy’s Dad. Will bring Soft Pawkisses purrsonally <3 Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday to you all🐾😽💞

  5. Sorry about your friend’s dad – I lost mine last September and it’s hard even when it’s expected. Will have to find the song you posted here on YouTube when I fire up the computer because I’m having trouble playing it on my iPad – I’m getting warnings come up about YouTube tracking my activities – never had that before! Can’t wait to hear the track! Thank you. Another cute kitty – just when I think the pics can’t get any cuter….😍

    1. Gilly,

I’m sorry that you lost your pop’s last year. My husband lost his dad a year ago this past March. Both his parents are now gone. It’s hard on DH on special occasions and the holidays. They were second parents to me treating me just like a daughter. I miss them very much. Thanks for your kind thoughts for Stacy. Have a good day.

  6. Sincere condolences to Stacy and her family! Even when you expect the worst, it’s still a shock. ♥

That’s a lovely tribute to your Dad, Cathy. I see where you got your good looks from! You make a beautiful pair.

Agnes Obel’s music has a mournful quality to it. I browsed through the playlist to get a feel for it. Thanks for sharing your new discovery.

  7. HELLO HELLO HELLO IT’S ME DOLLY! How’s going Cat? Oh wait just so you know it’s Marie Dolly is my nickname when I was little. The story goes is my dad wanted me to be called Patricia (which I named my oldest daughter that because that’s what he wanted me named, but my mama & NaNa stepped in. hahaha Anyway he went to see me in the nursery & he couldn’t find me and so he asked a nurse and she said, “Why she’s right here Mr. Chamberlin” and my basket was right next to the toys and he said he thought I was one of the dolls so ever since that moment he called me Dolly as a nickname and it stuck. Why we were out to dinner with my cousin Doiminick’s family and my friend that was with said, “Marie, pass the biscuits” and Dom said who is Marie? I told him it was me and he never knew my real name was Marie Ellen and all he knew was my nickname Dolly! hahahahahahaha Oh well. BORINGGGGGGGGGGG. SORRY, just thought I’d tell ya. Love ya girl, I’m going to try to a few more. Love you girl and thank you so much. I just got the NEW WORD PROGRAM SO I’M going to try to download it and LEARN THE BUGGER. I’LL LET YA KNOW. LOVE YOU GIRL!!!!!!!

    1. Marie,

I’m glad you were able to get your computer to cooperate to stop in for some boogie time! Your story of how you were pinned with the nickname Dolly is sweet and not at all boring. Is Dom your grandpa? Did you get the freebie version of Microsoft Word? I’m sure things haven’t changed a lot and you’ll learn it in no time at all. 😉 BTW, watch your inbox I sent you an email. Thanks for dancing with me, my furriend!

  8. Happy Father’s Day to all the 2- and 4-legged daddies. Well the music isn’t exactly dance music but her voice is very pleasant to listen to. I think this is the first photo I’ve seen of you. So pretty and so young.

    1. Letting go is a hard lesson for us all to learn but once we do the possibilities are endless. Thanks for joining me on the dance floor!

    1. Ellen,

It’s an easy thing to miss in social networking so it pays to kinda call attention to these matters for those who don’t get the memo. Thanks for dancing with me today!

  9. To have two tragic events in our group in two weeks – right now I am thinking of both of them. Your Dad and you looked so happy together. Wonderful that you have this picture to cherish. Of the songs, I enjoyed “Wallflower” the most, perhaps because it is a piano instrumental. It’s very good music to just lie there and drift away, if you are so inclined.

    1. Alana,

It’s been a sad couple of weeks with our bloggy friends losing parents. I called my daddy yesterday and asked him how he’s doing, he replied, “I’m happy to be above the ground”. I laughed at his response but thought instantly about Stacy making my heart heavy. Thanks for dancing with me, partner. Have a boogietastic week!

  10. Happy Father’s Day to all those special dads out there! I love the photo of you and your dad! Btw, the kitty is adorable! Have a purrfect day!

  11. Awww on the kitty. So cute.

I’m so sorry about Stacy’s loss. So sad.

You and your dad look awesome together.

I love video. I’ve not heard that before. Very pretty and relaxing.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous day and week. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Yeah, it’s sad mews about Stacy’s dad. Just keep her in your prayers, please. I know she’s going to need the extra strength in the coming days. It’s so hard to say goodbye to a parent, even when you know it’s gonna happen. Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, dearie. Have a boogietastic week!

    1. Brian,

Dittos to the ‘Happy Father’s Day’ wishes to all Dads. I know Stacy appreciates the special hug from ya, too. Have a purrfect day, my furriend!

  12. Hi, Cathy!

I’m back in the blog game, dear friend! Mrs. Shady and I had a great V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N and it is a pleasure to drop in to CAAC and be greeted by music and memories of your dad on Father’s Day. I am terribly sorry to learn of two losses upon my return, Stacy’s father and Michele’s mother. Prayers go out to both friends as they work through the loss of their loved ones. You posted an excellent picture of you and your dad. Papa Oom Mow Mow to your dear daddy. I hope somebody shows him your post. I rarely see pictures of you, Cathy, and I swear that you could audition to be the next Lois Lane in a Superman sequel.

Thank you for letting me know about the Netflix TV show The Rain. I read the plot summary about a deadly virus carried by the rain, and it seems like the kind of series that would interest me. The artist Agnes Obel is new to me. The moment she began to sing I realized that hers is the type of voice you and I both love – sweet, pure, clear and compelling. It’s easy to understand how effective her songs would be on the soundtrack of that series.

I also want to add that I love your colorful, glamorous, vintage pinup-themed header. It catches the eye and primes the pump for nostalgic fun.

I also wish DH a happy Father’s Day and I wish you a restful Sunday and wonderful week ahead, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

It’s great seeing you back in Blogosphere again! I hope you and Mrs. Shady had a grand time on your vacation. You’ll have to share some details with us on what you did. 🙂

Yes, we’ve had some sad mews with bloggy friends’ family members crossing over to the other side. One day, we’ll be reunited with those we love and that’ll be a happy, good time. All we can do is pray for Stacy & Michele during their period of mourning. I hope they’ll find comfort with God’s help.

You certainly made me smile with your flattery that I could be the next Lois Lane.

The Rain has a good storyline but it is a foreign production with English voice-over which sometimes doesn’t fit purrfectly with the mouth movement and that drives me a bit nuts. However, once I watched for several minutes then I was able to disregard that issue to focus on the series. I’d love to see them either produce the series in English or find a way to make this a bit more appealing to the brain because that’s where the confusion comes in. I’m glad you enjoyed listening to Agnes. She was a nice discovery.

I knew if anyone would like my new blog layout would be you because you think a lot like me when it comes to the appreciation of women celebrating being women and that’s the way these vintage pinup gals were – unashamed of their womanhood and enjoyed being treated like a treasure. It’s sad that women today do not celebrate their feminity or like (openly anyhow, I have to believe somewhere inside they do like it) being treated specially by men. I for one make no apologies for my feminity or how much I love the attention on the occasion paid by others. I find it very flattering and am not at all insulted.

Well, I hope you had a lovely Father’s Day, as well, my furriend. Have a boogietastic week!
