Welcome to Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me Christmas edition!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the countdown has begun. There won’t be an honorary 4M co-host for December because all month long it’s nothing but Christmas mewsic! There’s no room for the mean Mr. Grinch or the bah-humbug from an old Scrooge if you’re not with the Christmas program, then kindly take yourself elsewhere cause we don’t want you spoiling our party!
To kick off the seasons, I’m thinking about songs that often come to mind first thing each December for as long as I can remember but instead of traditional sounds, I’m stepping things up with the rock version of these classics… It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Andy Williams), Let It Snow (Dean Martin), Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town (Fred Astaire), Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer (Gene Autry), and Deck the Halls (Nat King Cole). Hit play to enjoy some new-to-me artists and others I know all too well for the happiest time of the year!
I absolutely love Christmas mewsic! That’s why I decided sometime after pulling this post together to host the Christmas Mewsic Marathon this month. For the most part, it’ll be quite simple – one song with its accompanying lyrics. However, today with lots of Christmas songs spinning on the turntable already, I’ll skip featuring a dedicated tune but wanted to give you the heads up to join me each day for a bit of Christmas magic in song.
What’s the very first Christmas song you think of every December? Who is your favorite classic/modern artists? Do you prefer traditional or contemporary Christmas mewsic?
Please read…this is a mewsic linky party, which means all participates are sharing songs that one can listen to from YouTube or Vimeo and a not a post about mewsic or mewsicians. Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.
It’s now time to join the 4M dance party!
ATTENTION!!! Would you like to be an honorary co-host? If so, shoot me an email or leave me a comment saying ‘YES, sign me up!’ and I’ll secure the next available month for you then send you the details.
Before you go, I’d like to ask you to help me in my December 1st BoTB by voting for your favorite artist. If you love mewsic and have an opinion, then that’s all you need to pick who you like best. 😉 Keep those tunes playing, your body swaying, and I’ll be boogieing over to see you soon.
Freebie suggestion… now until December 24th at participating Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s stores get your photo taken with Santa for free. Check your area to see if your stores are doing this!
Feel free to join these fun hops!

My husband worked in retail for over 30 years and he got so burned out on Christmas music (which he heard for 8 hours or more a day) now that he’s retired I can enjoy listening to it a little more. I have some favorites, ranging from traditional music such as “Adeste Fideles” to “Carol of the Bells” to “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” to “Jingle Bell Rock”. For modern music, I enjoy Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
It’s hard to believe that we’re already back to that time of year.
Nice choices. I love Christmas music. I will join next week. XO
It is wonderful, isn’t it!
We always did like that tune no matter who does it, well, almost!
Thanks for hosting Cathy – LOVE Christmas music and I am also featuring Christmas faves for the entire season! 🙂
Glad you got the Linky fixed…
Great takes on some old favorites!
WOW! I surely started this Christmas with a rough start. So last night my computer started its annoying antics once again. I’m learning how to type holding the caps button because so it’ll type in small letter case. Aughhhhh! Now that”s annoying for sure! Luvin” your run of Christmas music today, but you better be careful we have a whole month to go! HAHAHAHAHA HO HO HO!!! GREAT JOB, HONEY! HUGS
I must admit that I am not a fan of Christmas music, I like my classical music all year round!
I love this song. It is a wonderful time of year for sure.
Linky tools isn’t working for any of us today. Had to resort to Mr. Linky. Oh well.
Have a fabulous day and week, Cathy. Big hug. ♥
PS I don’t know where I have to link up…or did I missed something?😎
We love this Christmas post, CK. We don’t have the Christmas spirit yet, but with all this beautiful mewsic I’m sure it will come…soon 😀 We loved Norman Vincent Peale, he wrote some very great books! We’re in Aww…of the little squirrel💗Queen’s Thank God it’s Christmas is the first song that came up with us btw. Pawkisses for a Happy swinging Monday to all of you🐾😽💞
Super cool songs. Thanks for sharing them, I enjoyed them all.
Hmm…the linky tool wasn’t working this morning. Oh well. I’m in my tenth season of posting a Christmas music marathon. It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. I can guarantee you will hear some new-to-you tunes almost everyday, between Black Friday and Christmas. Stop by anytime. Have a blessed Christmas.
I love your Christmas spirit and the Christmas mewsic, Cathy! I cast my vote for BoTB, which I saw the link in this post. For some reason, I didn’t get your Dec. 1 post in my feed yesterday.
Hi, Cathy!
Happy 4M Monday… back on Monday where it started, dear friend! 🙂
For the most part I prefer traditional Christmas mewsic to contemporary, but it was refreshing to hear these rock versions of popular holiday songs. I especially liked the snow scenes contained in the first video as I listened to the prog rock version of “It’s The Most Wonderful Time.” I love songs about snow and bracing against winter cold, and C-Threep did a great job on the rock version of “Let It Snow.” Twisted Sister was a heavy metal hit on the MTV station where I worked in the 80s and 90s and it was fun hearing the band’s rockin’ rendition of “Deck The Halls.” The most delightful surprise in this batch is Baseball, a trio from Berlin that is wildly popular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and topping the charts across Europe with their authentic old school rock ‘n’ roll. I never heard of them. They are so good that I plan to delve into their work.
That’s a comforting meme at the end of the post, dear friend Cathy. Thanks for the mewsical entertainment and have a wonderful week ahead!
