Monday Morning Musings #5

You may remember last week that I was complaining about tree sap dropping on our newly washed car. The city cleared the trees off our front bank as planned, so we re-washed our car Saturday. Once again, time ran out and we had to wait till Sunday to apply the wax. The good news is NO MORE TREE SAP! I was happy to see this problem gone and we were finally able to get the car waxed before the rain fell on us.

My NCWB “Boothbay Harbor” wind bell giveaway ended last week. I announced a winner, but she didn’t respond, so random.org picked another for me. Thankfully, she answered my email and I have a happy winner! Let’s give a great big whoot-whoot to…

Did you get a chance to check out my post, Review Newz: Google Nexus 7 Tablet? If not, then I would love it if you took a peek at it and leave a comment. It was a pleasure to do this product review and I would love to impress those who invited me to do the job by seeing y’all interaction.

My first blog hop takes me to Stasha from The Good Life has a fun Monday Listicles prompt “10 SONGS MY HUSBAND DANCED TO AT HIS PROM”.

That’s been many years ago, Stasha, and my husband is not what I call..ahem… a dancer. In fact, he hates to dance, but loves music. The ONLY time I was able to get him to boogie was to slow dance. That being said, lets see what I can come up with that I think we may have slow danced to. The year… 1977!

1. A friend of mine was recently complaining to me that he and his spouse are getting constantly asked when they will have kids. Their plan is to never have kids…he is looking for a nice but firm response for when they get asked this question. What would be your response be?

I was in this position once upon a time and in all honesty, I was just like him – never wanting kids. I didn’t mix bones about it, I always said, I don’t want kids. Most people looked at me in total disbelieve and astonishment that I responded so easily with this statement, but this was precisely how I felt. Funny, things do have a way of changing and that’s exactly what happened with not only me, but DH. After 8-years of marriage we decided we wanted to have a rugrat or two or three. I was all the happier for this change of heart. We both are, really. Being parents have made our lives more complete. Of course, having children isn’t for everyone. Tell your friend it’s really difficult (as he probably already knows) for others who have children it’s hard to get the notion that some people do not want kids and at the same time ask him to keep an open mind that one day he may change his mind. He may find himself very happy with news that he’s gonna be a daddy. 🙂

2. Are you missing the U.S. government?

No, but I do miss the money they are still leaching from my wallet. It’s funny in an ironic sort of way, if the working class takes a mandatory leave from his/her job then it’s usually without pay. Our elected officials are somehow different. Most, if not all, of these people, are financially set and it wouldn’t hurt them to do without the taxpayers’ dollars, especially when there are so many in our country who can’t even make ends meet.

I am a proud conservative who believes this country’s economics need to be led by a firm, reserved hand. First thing first, elected official’s salaries need to be slashed and all this crazy nonsense of government hand-outs to every achy liberal cause needs to stop. Give American companies reasons to keep the work in the states, drastically cut taxes for everyone (if you put more money in the taxpayers hands, then they will boost the economy), defund Obamacare (mandated Federal insurance is not the answer & if they can’t run what they have what makes anyone think they can administer health care), and stop giving aid to countries that hate us. Oops, I am on my soapbox again, aren’t I? Stepping off & moving to next question.

3. What should Heather get for her birthday today?

First off, she deserves a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Next Wayne should ask if I grant you one birthday wish (okay Heather be reasonable), what would it be? Then wha-lah Heather gets what she wants for her birthday. Sounds pretty good, huh? Uh-oh, is Wayne mad at me? Anywho, have an extraordinary day, my friend. I’m sure whatever comes your way by Wayne, your kids, or family will be pretty fantastic.

4. When was the last time you got lucky (no – not that kind of lucky, the G-rated version)?

Ah, you’re no fun! Actually, the last time I got really lucky was when I received a Google Nexus 7 Tablet from Staples in exchange for my honest product review. Now, that was a sweet deal! Check it out here!

My question for today…

What is on your to-do list this week?

I think I will ramble about my to-do list in another random post. So, hop back over to see what my answers are tomorrow with Tuesday Talk Time.

To complete my Monday morning ramblings, I want to skip over to Carissa from the lowercase letter to play Miscellany Monday.

Sunday afternoon, we ran errands – grocery shopping & picked up on my prescription. The tall grass in the nearby landscape caught my attention, so I decided to snap a shot with my iPhone4. I later decided to get artsy applying a sepia effect and adding a vignette to the image with photo editing.

Do you like music? Would you like a fun, loving group of loyal bloggers to visit you week after week after week? If you’re nodding your head yes like I think you are, then you’re gonna wanna check out my Monday’s Music Moves Me post and be a part of the dance floor shakin’!
